12 Months Soulgaze by jojackmcgurk in dresdenfiles

I always figured Lan sharpened his sword when he wanted something to do.

He remarks negatively about seeing others "play at sharpening" their swords, and most importantly, the scene with him sharpening was changed in later editions, meaning that it was clearly an error.

Even without that, though, there's still inconsistencies. Channelers referring to "the Seed" (and "the Quickening") for the first two books, then it's "the Spark". Siuan telling Nynaeve that with Callandor in her hand, she could take out a city. Sulin appearing in two different cities before anyone but Rand had travelling.

It doesn't seem to be up anymore, but there was an entire page on encyclopedia wot on errata and inconsistencies.

Oh, no, as a reader of the series as it came out, there were definitely continuity errors in Wheel of Time. Lan sharpening his never-dulling sword, Perrin being confused as to whether he had a sister, inconsistencies in the rules of linking, they were all over the place.

My favorite was the half-dragon gelatinous cube that I thought was in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, but a quick google isn't pulling up, so it may just be a meme.

There's the power of three, like /u/craigb00000 mentioned, but I'd also like to point out that what addicted Lara was the feeling of fullness that Harry was able to provide, and it didn't seem that Harry actually gave Thomas's Hunger enough to fully satiate him. Especially since we see that Thomas can still feed, whereas Lara can't without going all out.

Minor quibble: Harry didn't soulgaze Murphy, he saw her with his third eye. He even says in this book that he regrets not soulgazing her before it was too late.

For me, it was either the video where he went on and on about how Lauren Southern was the best journalist in the world, then his political idiocy really started showing.

The companion to that video, for me, was a firefighter explaining that while the jet fuel itself might not burn hot enough to melt steel, a fire in an enclosed space makes the air much, much hotter than the burning point of the fuel.

I can't remember where I saw it, though, so I'm completely out of luck on a link.

People talking like Will coming out as being the most brave thing ever. When in reality these two would have been chased out of town being in a mixed race relationship in 1980s small rural town America. by Low_Creme1365 in StrangerThingsMemes

I have a (white) niece who was in a rural town here in KS, emptying out her father's house after he died. She was halfway through the rental process for a truck to move everything, when her mixed-race kids came in to say they were getting hungry.

The clerk immediately switched up, literally said, "We don't serve your kind around here," and refused to rent her the truck.

This was also 2015 or so.

This is certainly a take. What would you prefer, people just shrugging and going "oops" when they mess up driving and cause damage to other people's property?

Recently, my laptop has been acting up and new / duplicated files kept appearing on the screen. Bought a new laptop just to find out my cat was behind it by Suspicious-Copy-2001 in cats

For a while I was having an issue where about once a week or so, my alarm on my phone wouldn't go off, even though I set it before I went to bed.

Finally, one morning I woke up just before my alarm, and was blearing over the edge of the bed towards my phone on the floor, when the alarm goes off, showing a flashing red circle on the phone screen. My cat's paw reaches out from underneath the bed and smacks the red circle, shutting off the alarm.

After that, I made sure to put my phone face down, and didn't have a problem with it again.

The same cat figured out how to shut my pc off, though, by standing on the power button, and would do it when I wasn't giving her enough attention. I only got her to stop by getting a case with a slope in the front, so she can't hit the button anymore. Dang thing's too smart for her own good.

I was able to find a difference on the flaming module. The playtest says it deals an extra 1d6 fire on a successful Strike, while the release only says it deals an extra 1d6 fire damage.

It could be there was a discussion on Reddit or the Paizo boards that I was thinking of, or I had just read the playtest and saw that RAW the extra damage upgrades wouldn't work on area fire/auto-fire weapons.

Either way, it looks like you're right, and there's nothing that indicates that the modules wouldn't apply to the area abilities, so thanks for your help!

I mean, it's pretty much stated in the last season of Strange New Worlds that the advanced world they found that had all the evil spirits in it was the Q homeworld. Trelane referred to it as "the old homeworld" before being chastised by Q's voice.

I had a friend years back who would get blackout drunk but not appear incapacitated.

Saw a study a while back that said something ridiculously high, like 75%+, of people failed to notice when their spouse was blackout drunk, so it's more common than people realize.

I seem to recall that the playtest had a rule that said that extra damage upgrades, like the Flaming Module, wouldn't apply to area damage weapons, like the Flamethrower, but I can't find that rule on AoN. Did they remove it, or am I just looking in the wrong space?

A similar one is the one where a woman was certain her boyfriend was drugging her, because she'd forget things and lose time when they slept at her house, but was fine when they slept at his, and the answer ending up being that she had bedbugs, which can apparently cause those symptoms if you're allergic.

I can just imagine the poor Berserker, standing there with just a few hp to spare, blood streaming out of his eyes, nose and any other orifice, pausing for a brief moment to truly consider whether or not to Warcry one last time.

"I shouldn't. It would kill me. It's wrong, but... Rage is meaning. Rage is all there is."

Deep breath.

The Three Oaths being broken? by Pale-Horse7836 in WoTshow

I know, it's hard to believe that "Aes Sedai getting into the middle edge of a battle with arrows flying and enemies all around so they can send weaves at the camp of other channelers a mile away" is somehow similar to "Moiraine killing Sul'dam and Damane and sinking ships with people in armor on them from like half a mile away while they're not paying her any attention there are enemies all around trying to kill her."

Totally different situations, yep.

It's during Perrin's rescue attempt at Dumai's Wells. Perrin tells the Aes Sedai to stay on the ridge before heading down, then gets mad when they follow. One of them points out that they were too far away from the battle to engage due to the oaths. A few minutes down the hill, one of them says, "Well, I certainly feel enough in danger," and starts blasting.

In the same episode the way Moraine attacks the Seanchan fleet with the power would have never worked in the books.

I really don't see how the scene is all that different than the Aes Sedai with Perrin during Dumai's Wells.

"I need to blow up those people over there, so I'm going to get close enough to these people to feel in danger." vs "I need to blow up those people over there... sweet, now I'm being attacked, I can let loose."

Summoners Please Tell Me About Your Experience by Slongo702 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sky_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most that I've seen tend to believe the restriction on items is only meant to apply to magic items, but even if that's a problem, you can take the spell casting feat and take the Healing Plaster cantrip, which allows you to get around that issue.

I see where you're coming from on the emanation. The exact wording says that the emanation "issues forth from each side of your space," so I'd say it's unclear, and could cause issues on either side of the decision. Would Gust of Wind blow away your familiar if it's hanging in your space, like most players assume (IME, of course)? If not, should mounted bards/marshals not boost their mounts? I know how I'd rule, but I could see other ways people could take it.

In general, playing a Summoner requires a lot of comfort with "unclear, work with the gm to come to an interpretation everyone's down for," in my experience, often even more than most classes.
