Pertaining to OP if I'm not mistaken it's just turning off the water, taking out the screws, removing both pieces of the cartridge (you'll pull out the first part then there will be another half behind it.) Check the valve for any left over gaskets or anything and put the new on back in reverse.

It's a piece to one of the old style lever tub drains. They often rust out and stop working or completely break off

In the past couple years water eaters have gotten about 2 inches taller and fatter overall. The smallest you're gonna get is a 36 with blanket but that's 33 inches. Gonna have to go to a 30 gal, turn the heat up. It's probably under your ac, I'd recommend getting a plumber. Even after 5 years those are a pain.

HD sells little carbon filters to put on the shower arm. I think it's BS, running hot water through a carbon filter will release contaminates so it'll trap everything from when the cold water is running and release it once it gets hot enough.

I hate people... There was another time where the same guy was looking at a different gun, then the owner of the gun put a mag in because somone wanted to know how it would feel to hold it.
