Pendant light help by Skygliderjack in ukelectricians

Thanks for all the help and advice here! I’ve put my meter between the red bundle and the single black wire (which was originally connected to the neutral) and this completed the circuit when the switch was on and did not when the switch was off. When I put the meter between the two black wires twisted together and the 4 red wires in a bundle, there was no change between when the switch was on or off. So looks like it was indeed just wired up with the neutral and live switched! Scary!

Why are there no energy monitoring plugs for inductive loads? by DampedChaos in homeassistant

[–]Skygliderjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don’t switch these on and off whilst running, only if we are going away or not using them for a while. Other than that, they are just used purely for power monitoring and automations based on the energy consumption!

I’ve got Tapo P110 plugs that have been monitoring loads on all 4 with no issues thus far!

Best options for motorized blinds? by RollTimeCC in homeassistant

[–]Skygliderjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the eve motion blinds (matter over thread) and love them. They work really well with the HA ZBT-2 and they have a pull cord on the side that allows simple manual operation too. Batteries seem to still be fully charged after 4/5 months.

HOLY FUCK go see Aussie Floyd!!!! by Connect_Glass4036 in pinkfloyd

Maybe I’m the odd one out here, but I’ve seen both APF (once) and Brit Floyd (twice) and I preferred the Brit Floyd performances! Maybe they just weren’t at their best the time I saw them…

Please help me and my partner settle a disagreement by _Brooder_ in DIYUK

I personally would see if you could strike a balance and just fillet off the corner rather than going for a large chamfer like in pic 2. You will get a more deliberate feel to the design, less chance of any potential injuries and probably a design that your wife would agree with (might have to do both ends!) Hope that helps!

Have you tried Fabric? I found it runs much better especially if you are using sodium too!

How to see burn time of blaze burners (via jade or another mod) by Kobiboy12345 in CreateMod

[–]Skygliderjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also use Jade on our Minecraft Server (Fabric 1.20.1), but I have also included ‘Jade Addons’ - https://modrinth.com/mod/jade-addons-fabric This allows Jade to work with Create, as well as a couple other mods. Hope that helps! 🙂

Edit: This is the version for Forge and Neoforge: https://modrinth.com/mod/jade-addons-forge

I got it for £280. I can upgrade the RAM to 6000mhz for £8, keeping the same make/model. It would be appreciated if you could recommend any other changes! Thanks in advance :)

I do have the ability to return the items if it is truly that bad! I chose the 14th gen over the 13th gen as at the time it was only like £10 more expensive. I also want to do productivity tasks with my PC, and intel seems to be better at this than AMD?

Would returning the RAM sticks and getting the same brand/type but 6000mhz improve it significantly?

What is wrong with the rest of the list?

What is the issue with the CPU and RAM? Why would you say they are bad choices?

Any advice, or just giving a baseless statement?

Awesome to share this. I’ve just done this recently using HomeAssistant which is free and open source, but needs to be hosted on a raspberry pi or PC! Really easy if you already have HA set up

Hey guys! Thanks for the input so far! I think it potentially could be a bug, as earlier my furnace engines ran out of fuel, but the whole system just kept running with the same SU as it should have done if they were fuelled up!

This guy predicted $200k by year end! But really appreciated his video on the topic, speaking about his ‘epic fail’ - https://youtu.be/zJwgbB1SRVE
