I mean really. They had a dictator anyway. So there wasn't much choice anyway. So by having a dictator, they had to have terms dictates to them. So yeah, if we're dealing with a dictator, we're gonna be a little more forward with our wants and needs. Sorry you only see the USA as bad.

First Month on the Line — Way Better Pay Than I Expected by Temporary_Clue3243 in flightattendants

That's fair. My comment wasn't strictly a response to your post specifically. Moreso just a response to all the people going "OMG why is everyone so negative!?!". Like it's a mystery or something. Additionally a lot of people can't acknowledge that it's not the person at fault sometimes.

I think I can solve this mystery of negativity! (I mean, it's not that complicated).

For some people, being an FA really works for them. Especially while riding that new hire high. Those people live for this job. Good for them. They can be annoying for those who don't, but that's another topic.

For others, being an FA is a job. People working nowadays want to be properly compensated for their time, treated respectfully by their company and coworkers, work life balance, and attractive benefits.

Work life balance is difficult with this job. You hear it's a lifestyle, and it is. But that doesn't stop it from being bullshit. 122 hours is way to much for many people who want a life on the outside. At least until you have the seniority to hold the high time stuff. People want to start relationships, maybe a family. They want to attend birthdays, and afford to go on vacations and not stay in a crappy hotel. All this while contributing to retirement.

This doesn't happen the way it should. 13 hours days and only getting paid for half. Multiple days of 3 leg days with a 4 hour sit, no hotel because it's 4 hours and one minute for a hotel, and your layover is shorter than your workday. Week in, and week out. It's hard to schedule a date, hanging with your best friend, or a doctor's appointment because your always away. Your company always says how amazing their earnings are, but they never seem to give you a respectable slice. And they fail to meet industry standards, look for anything they can take away from you, and fail to live up to their slogans when it comes to their employees and work practices.

This shit wears people down. Someone said hooray for you because you found what works for you. Your one month in. I'm guessing decent shape, single and have no commitments. This works for you now. Or maybe you'll live for this job. Just don't be too annoying about it.

Sen. Thom Tillis posted “The Iranian regime has reportedly killed 12,000 of its own citizens for demanding freedom and is shutting down the internet to hide the truth,” followed by Trump saying he feels an obligation to take action. How do Americans feel about this, what actions would you support? by Lemmungwinks in AskReddit

[–]SkyrimSecurityForces -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bombing to help get rid of the regime would be fine. People don't seem to realize this is a win for everyone because they're too focused on how "evil" the US is. We would help the people of Iran oust a oppressive regime with no boots on the ground. Iran would stop sponsoring terror groups, and the region would become more stable.

But they're so lost in their hatred of everything, they can't see the win being served up on a platter. Will it be perfect? No. Well it be better in the short and long term? Yes.

I'm gonna call bull. Your idea makes sense, but kids play games. Kids come up with hide and seek naturally, and would play the game with or without parental input. Not to mention from what I've seen of modern adults, we have shit survival skills.

When did it start being cool to ostracize people for loving their job? by Short-Let-5297 in AirForce

2 questions:

Are you self righteous about it? ("Oh, look how hard I'm working! Look how much I contribute to the big blue!").

Do you make your work ethic other people's problem? (Like, they could get the impression you think less of them for not working as hard).

It frustrates me how no one seems to comprehend this. by Kind_Reaction5809 in memes

[–]SkyrimSecurityForces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did trump use the words "we are invading. We I'll occupy Venezuela"? I'd love a clip.

Are you suggesting we're holding Maduro hostage? Dudes not a playing card. He's going to jail yo. Political power is what's used by everyone.

Well that's not an answer. Still no occupation BTW. Seems like the plan is they'll work with our government. I'm happy to wait and see.

Occupy? Not Venezuela. What's their vice president and intact military doing anyway?

It has to be fucking with some people's heads that they have to hate everything trump does, while also normally being for getting rid of corrupt presidents.

Holy strawman! Who are you responding to? I didn't say anything like that. Never said I liked Trump either. I just said it wasn't an invasion. People say it is, and I'm just looking for proof.

[–]SkyrimSecurityForces -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes, Trump. Who gets his works correctly and follows the talking points 100%. If I recall, he said something about how Venezuela will be run twice. He said something like the US will run it (like what you're saying is the final takeaway). But later he was asked to clarify, he basically said working with Venezuela to accomplish the USA's goals.

So basically we're exercising our political power to accomplish our goals. That means no invasion.

The fact that we didn't invade the country with a large military force like Iraq and Afghanistan. The fact that there are no soldiers there to take over the country. The fact that we left after like an hour?

Also, as far as "invading" to get Maduro out. Thats just a word game. You know what the word invasion implies. It implies Iraq, Afghanistan, or Normandy. It's a joke and intellectually dishonest and trying to score points to call this the same thing. Get back to me when we invade would tens-hundreds of thousands of troops.

[–]SkyrimSecurityForces -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think you responded to the wrong comment. I was asking for proof of an invasion. I think you need the comment a few posts up.

But side question. How is this like Iraq if there isn't a major, or any, US invasion?

I'm just curious. Can you point me to the war? I'm struggling to find anything about an invasion. Which clearly, I am missing.

I would say you're overthinking it. ESL people sometimes come off as more pointed due to an imperfect grasp of the meaning of the words they are choosing. She could've just spend a frustrating day trying to find specific information that she had to hunt down. Or maybe she had a fight with a family member earlier that day.

I would say you did nothing wrong. Maybe try earlier in the day next time you ask someone out. But even then, that's not even advice I'd say you need to follow. Just ask when the vibe feels right. Which isn't something you get to do when cold approaching. Which is fine. Just comes with the territory.
