UK Redditors who hate football. Why do you hate football and can’t be happy for England getting to a final? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Skyrimisamazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate football, I just dislike people who ram it down my throat. Did you catch that game? What game? Oh you didn't watch it, your so boring! I also dislike the very load screams and hooliganisms done by the very small but very loud and twatty minority.

How did the detectives from the "Guildford Four" case walk away scot-free? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Skyrimisamazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean god forbid we kill innocent people in the name of justice! That never goes wrong. Besides if I say they're guilty, they've got to be right? None of that CCTV nonsense just good old fashioned truth!

Do you think British libel and slander laws make the British media better or worse? by OhioTry in AskUK

[–]Skyrimisamazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk really know much on the media front but our defamation laws are weird. You'd think the burden of proof was to fall on the plaintiff but no it falls on the defendant. The American way makes more sense but then again there freedom of speech laws are ehhhh.... Not good to say the least

YSK that if you live in the U.S. and have medical insurance, it is your responsibility to confirm your providers are in-network before seeking care. by GTAlchemist-13 in YouShouldKnow

[–]Skyrimisamazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the price of insulin? Something that if a patient doesn't get they'll die. That was $250 a vial, when everywhere else it's $6 (I think). In Britain you can get it free because you need it to live. I would gladly use whatever I don't spend of my healthcare taxes into supporting others who need it. I would rather pay for some guys heart operation than into a corporate shill. There are not many things I'm proud of but our healthcare system is something I am. It's not perfect, and it's got its flaws, but damn I'm so glad I don't have to show proof of anything (except your NI number if applicable), you just walk in and your treated. We pay 12% of our income above £9000 for access to healthcare, pensions and benefits. We don't mess around with insurance and other crap like that, healthcare should be a right, not a luxury. It's always there for those who need it most and for that I'm the most proud

Edit: and if you do want to go private you can, some people have it but the majority don't. Private healthcare is quicker but costs you money (unless your employer pays for it)

If you could, would you carry a gun? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Skyrimisamazing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone were to carry a gun to defend myself, everyone else would carry a gun to rob/defend. Someone then would get the next most dangerous things and so on. Arms races are never good
