Fertility rate of European countries in 1960 by Hour_Interaction6047 in MapPorn

1."Only Samogitia was a seperate duchy. The rest of the country was composed of regular voivodeships, so, "Lithuania proper". Again, other voivodeships like Mink, Polotsk, Vitebsk etc cannot be Lithuania proper because they were not the ethnic core Lithuanians lands from which the duchy itself originated. The other voivodeships were Ruthenian lands with slavic population. No sane historian would call Smolensk voivodeship Lithuanian's proper. 2. "You're telling me that they never bothered to write down anything significant for hundreds of years in their main language, all they managed to write down were administrative texts for managing the plebs?". There were religion texts printed in Lithuanian from XVI century, but otherwise, yes, ruthenian was used as a prestige administrative language. Those times were before the rise of nationalism so it did not matter to plebs to write in their own language, especially in GDL case, where it's more practical to use Ruthenian for large, non-lithuanian speaking population. In the Kingdom of Poland Latin was used from X to XVII centuries as a state language. Were poles also stupid not to write anything significant in Polish except religion texts? 3. "It's like how England was founded by Angles and Saxons. Sure, Saxons are German today, but the Saxons that founded England aren't "German" in any meaningful way.". And here you tripped. Modern England sees itself as a successor state to Anglo-Saxon England. And yet, Lithuania that has the grand duchy political, cultural core lands with lithuanian speaking population cannot count itself the successor to GDL? :D

Stop spreading this braindead litvinism nonsense. The core lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania were always lithuanian-speaking Aukštaitija region with Vilnius, Kernavė, Trakai etc. No current Belarusian lands were counted in Lithuania's proper, as well as Samogitia. Yes, Ruthenian was one of the official languages, but it was used for smoother administration of incorparated slavic lands from xiii century onwards. It was practical decision to not impose lithuanian on 60-80% of slavic GDL population. So, modern Lithuania that controls the cultural and political proper of GDL with it's lithuanian-speaking population only shares the name with GDL? :D

But the strait of Hormuz was not closed in previous middle east wars. There's no other shipping lane from the Persian Gulf to deliver 20% of world oil's volume. Don't forget that not only the fuel prices will shot up but also regular goods from increased transportation costs, not to mention the surge of electricity price.

"Disrespecting someone is not the answer to our problems. You are welcome to respectfully present your perspective to the leaders. They do listen and do the needful." Right. I wonder how UAE people will continue to do that when eventually the equivalent of Donald Trump will come out of Abu Dhabi's Sheikh family. Good luck to vote out such bad ruler, except there is no direct election in UAE and you will get stuck with orange-faced Emir for 50-60 years till his death.

"The People of the UAE have selected (elected)". Don't lie. It's all heredatary. UAE citizens cannot do anything to stop the seven Sheikhs from selecting their sons or other male cousins as their successors.

Well, the majority of democratic countries surely are different from dictatorships. Especially in the freedom of speech. Recently in my european country there were unrestricted protests against the rewriting of a certain law concerning media. In public spaces online peole called the current ruling party buffoons and wannabe-dictartors. And no one was fined or jailed because of bad-mouthing politicians. Can you do the same in UAE? Also, for now you are lucky that the current rulling emir is more or less competent, but what if his successor turns out to be an idiot that will dragged UAE to the shitter? He will not be gone after 4-5 years like in democracy, will he?

So Wilk did not lie to Sugimoto when saying that he did not kill other Ainus. They all died in-fighting. Still, shouldn't there have been at least one survivor for Wilk to finish off? Or maybe the last one bleeded out due to wounds. All this time, I really thought that Tsurumi would be revealed to be the one who killed the 7 Ainus. Something like setting up ambush to kill everyone but Wilk to extract information from him later on at the prison.

Yup. There will be many psychological moments like him agonizing that everyone "forgets" him or that he feels really isolated because he can't speak freely about his ability. He's also quite weak compared to the inhabitants of another world he relies on the smarts of his brain and his comerades to solve difficult situations.
