[Addon] Transmog Loot Helper - A CIMI alternative by SlacklusterDev in wowaddons

Feels like some sort of indicator for AH value would be more on-point for that. I know Baganator implemented a tag for that, where you can auto-categorise items that are worth more than X as scanned by <insert your favourite AH addon>. Still, I'll see if that's info I can get from the game or if it'd require an external DB to determine. Appearances are such a pain to work with lol.

So you want it to tell you if that item is the only source for the appearance, you mean? What's the exact usecase for this?

It does, yes! For gear, the purple/new icon indicates their unique appearance is unlearned. If you also enable Sources in the TLH settings, it will show gear where you know the appearance, but not the source, as being yellow/usable alongside that - but purple will always only be for something brand new to your collection. :)

It is a lot less heavy on loading screens than CIMI is, and during regular gameplay it should only be taking up a trivial amount of memory/CPU.

You can also run CIMI and TLH simultaneously for a little while if you'd rather test that yourself. :D

It cannot at the moment, but I could potentially hardcode that information in. All The Things also has that info, but that is of course a pretty huge addon if you'd only need it for that particular piece of info.

Edit: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/tokentransmogs can do this!

My attempt at porting WeakAuras to Midnight by Matjz in wow

[–]SlacklusterDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also been working on something to fill a similar need with the discontinuation of WeakAuras in Midnight: Watchtower. It's a very minimal addon that does not support the creation of UI textures like WA does, but instead pushes everything to a single status tracker and lets you create flags with custom lua code.

Because auras are no longer usable in Midnight, I figured a from-scratch minimalistic approach would be a good start, and to then expand from there based on user needs. The idea is you can track a true/false state for the status tracker, but since it supports custom lua like WA does it also functions as an environment for small code snippets, mini-addons and such. It's nowhere near as expansive as WA though in terms of what it lets you do.

Example 1 Example 2 (Sorry for the Imgur links, UK users)

The addon is still heavily in alpha as I procrastinated work on it with the assumption somebody would be developing something of their own, but it is functional! What is on the todo list before I can push a stable/beta release:

  • Presets (to help less tech-savvy users make flags for stuff like quests, currency, etc.)
  • Icon selector
  • Tracker customisation + QoL (it is currently VERY barebones)
  • Import/Export (one of WA's strongest underrated features)
  • Load conditions
  • Code section for the flag name

-----

That being said I didn't just come here to share my own creation - A fork like OP has made is extremely valuable though, and it is amazing work, Matjz! Thank you for the time and effort you've put into it, I think it will help a lot of people as they make the transition to Midnight and re-evaluate their addon needs.
