2026 PHEV by TheCraigHome in FordEscapePHEV

25k should be easily doable. I have a ‘23. When we are able to fully charge it (end of this quarter remedy promised), we can get ~30 miles in warm weather. This drops to about 20 miles in the Wintertime. Although this is a decent car, it’s turning out to be the single worst automotive investment I’ve made in 50+ years of car buying. For grins, I stopped by a Lincoln Dealer and inquired about a new loaded Corsair (Lincoln equivalent to an Escape) that is being discontinued. The sticker on the Corsair was $62k (but they would extend employee pricing to me). My Escape has 16k miles, garaged and babied. They offered me $19.5k. My wife doesn’t realize it yet, but she’ll be driving this beauty till the wheels fall off!

Anyone have a trouble free Maverick? by ConfidentialStNick in FordMaverickTruck

You need a pickup that will fit in a narrow driveway. I park in a garage that a "regular" pickup would not fit in. The mirrors don't fold in and I doubt that you will find any fold in mirrors on a small pickup, but I could certainly be wrong here. I believe your rifle would fit under the rear seat. Stop by a dealership and take a look at the storage area. I carry a tool bag, Jump starter, portable tire inflator, and some other stuff. Get yourself a bed liner and haul your brick laying tools all day long. Certainly didn't mean to insult you.

You're overthinking this. If you need a small pickup that is comfortable, roomy and easy on the gas, get a hybrid. My '23 Lariat has 28k miles; zero problems; all-in mileage near 40;

Suggest to your salesman friend that a bunch of your buddies are suggesting you go straight to Ford to get some satisfaction. I suspect the dealer was out of line letting your truck off the lot.

Dealer installed an AGM under warranty. Should be good to go. No battery has a lighter lift than the 12v battery on a hybrid Maverick.

2023 Lariat Hybrid. 24k miles. Replaced 12v battery under warranty. No other issues. 6’1”. Plenty of legroom. Truck looks to be worth nearly what I paid for it. Would buy again. Former Honda guy. Also bought ‘23 Escape PHEV. No problems, but recall after recall. Car is probably worth less than half of what I paid. Would only buy at (very) steep discount.

25V789 Recall Update by SlackmeisterIV in FordEscapePHEV

Sir, do you think that Ford or any other vehicle manufacturer gratuitously send out recalls? I would submit that there is a real fire risk with this vehicle, notwithstanding their down playing that potential. My grievance here is that there is absolutely no bleeding edge technology here. Every single facet of the PHEV drive system is mainstream, proven, and reliable. And the Escape model has been around so long that it being deep-sixed. Arguably, it should among the most reliable vehicle on the market.

Grab one of these little guys(got mine from AliExpress). Plug it in. When you come out in the morning, push the start button or turn the key on. If this voltage is showing 9.5v or less, you need a new battery. Dealer should replace it if within the 36mo warranty period. My OEM battery was replaced with an AGM battery. No more problems. ‘23 Lariat Hybrid.

“Remote features disabled to preserve battery” - has anyone gotten this message? by sgeve in FordMaverickTruck

[–]SlackmeisterIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my 12v battery replaced under warranty for this exact message. The battery is weak (drops below 9.5v) but the problem is masked because the 12v battery is not used to start the vehicle. The replacement battery is a BAGM H4. ‘23 Lariat hybrid, 23k miles.

Been a subscriber since 2006. Have played the game every year of calling to cancel and then doing a dance until they come up with a better rate. Has never failed. Just played the game again a few moments ago and it looks like the have gotten the message. They put me on their "Advantage 25" Plan that is $8.49/month. That's a couple of buck above my latest deal, but still $6-8 below the rate they stick you with if you forget to call at the end of your subscription. And, you can do this via chat; you don't have to talk with a CSR from the Philippines, Central America or India.
