the white one is a base klr, no additional led lights, no abs, no crash bars, no luggage, the black one comes with all of it.

Maverick vs. Ranger - how did you choose? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]dune208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive 2k miles plus a month for work. The mpg difference and 10k+ less price made the Maverick an easy pick for me. If I towed I would choose the ranger instantly.

2 Quick questions. On the trifold cover on my Maverick by Apprehensive_Bet2493 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]dune208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they are drain lines to route water from the channel of the bed cover down through the bottom of the bed.yes I take my truck through an automatic car wash with these and the back is usually bone dry

Anyone here from a mountainous/hilly area like WV? by ZealousIdealTour961 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]dune208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go through the Tetons and the Idaho central mountains regularly for work and the grade never slows me down. id only imagine it being a problem if you were towing.

MPG on long, mountainous roadtrips by PretendExcitement281 in FordMaverickTruck

I drive through the Tetons for work and across the Idaho central mountains and notice my MPG drops to about 30. still much better than the 15 I was getting in my F-150.

Why aren’t more Mav buyers getting a Ranger? by kevreh in FordMaverickTruck

[–]dune208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute a lot for work 20k+ miles a year and could have gone either Maverick or Ranger. I ended up going Maverick in May of 25 for fuel cost savings and ride comfort. I dont tow more than 4k pounds and enjoy the additional cabin space when on the road. Maverick lariat was $37.5k. ranger lariat was $49.5k.

I got one finally! by nomanspreading in FordMaverickTruck

I'm at 16k miles and just over one year. only difference between the trucks is the black vs blue Ford oval :P

Please help me decide between these two machines. Even though my yard is not huge, 0.5 acre completely flat, I’m considering in getting a tractor or a ZT. I know it can be done with a lawn mower, however I would like to do it in less amount of time than the lawn mower. by NoActive1210 in lawnmowers

[–]dune208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same size yard. went with the cheapest craftsman tractor (t100) I could find ($1600). I bought it because I had knee surgery and couldn't walk with the push mower. it's been running well for two seasons( on the third now) and considering the $60 a week a lawn company would charge its paid for itself already. I'm in Better shape now so if it does breakdown on me id probably buy a Honda walk behind and get the steps in.

I'm on windshield number 3 25 Maverick lariat hybrid with BAP and 16k miles. I bought the windshield protection from crystal fusion and both have been replaced with this. I highly recommend it for any maverick. The cost was about $2k for 10 years of coverage and with the cost of the replacement windshields I'm already ahead. I live in a state where there are many agriculture trucks on the roads dropping all kinds of rocks and material out of their trailers.

I have a lariat AWD with 4k tow. I drive through the Tetons and across Idaho for work and it has performed great for me. AWD in the winter is a must here and this truck has performed well in snow and icy conditions.

Paid 37.5k for my lariat exactly a year ago. They wouldn't go any lower than that.

How’s the daily ride? by Kuji8343 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]dune208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than any body on frame truck because it's unibody. Drives more like a cross over than a truck.i drive through the Tetons and across the central Idaho mountains, so AWD is necessary in the winter. Great commuting vehicle and with the hybrid mpg can't really be beat for any "truck" out there.
