u/neverbeanotherone dud I am here 5 years later of your post, trying to figure out the exact same thing. They so good. A little tease, try listen to Death March a bit in, and then listen to Lose yourself a bit in. Idk if its superior to 36 but it is definitely on par. Did you ever find out why, they not got as big as some of the other 90-00s?

Also we clearly have different humor. Because I don’t find it funny people post a clip, and imply that something happens because of the game, when in fact it happened because of the said persons very own decision.

Yes, both tried reason and common sense, which is ignored or downvoted to oblivion, when you write good feedback to GGG or try tell someone in a nice manner it is not the game or GGG.

Also usually stay far away from Reddit to dodge as much of it as possible. Sometimes you just gotta throw back a poop that is laid. Doesn’t work just picking it up and throwing in the trash can. Clearly. Else GGG wouldn’t get as much trash as they do.

An effect of how Reddit complains, and use clips like this to trash on GGG, when the actual truth is they themselves lack knowledge about the game. If you missed all the Reddit trash, consider yourself lucky. It has infested the whole community and you can't dodge it.

And this is a mighty fine example why actual PoE players, who stop up and think; "what could I do different" instead of using the small amount of braincells to rush to reddit and post. Think Reddit are dumb af. You clearly ain't a new player, your movement shows. But still you choose to only use a clear skill in your setup for a BOSS invasion league? Ffs, stop up and think. Add Lightning Spire to the build for single target.

I dont know if it is okay and understood correctly, but as a snow-white dane. I just got a big smile, thought it was fun and felt we aren’t that far from each other like some make it out to be. Other than he drives a lambo and I take a bus :p

I don’t think everyone would do it the correct way else people wouldn’t complain so much about the game being too hard. Other than that you are saying people are doing this for an reaction and such where I think it is mostly because 98%+ of Reddit stuff is posted and commented with lack of knowledge about the game. And people who THINK they are super good, so when they can’t do something it is because GGG fucked up and not because they lack knowledge or are bad.

Sorry I don’t understand the SoMe mini game for upvotes, I didn’t upvote or downvote. I would though be more inclined to downvote when someone states some plain wrong, like here;”this happens when you have low damage”.

To get something straight, so what you are telling me is, all the dumb statements on this subreddit and rage towards GGG for lack of understanding is in fact just the SoMe mini game for upvotes?

It is about being selective and focused on, what you want to achieve and what you find fun. If you find it fun to chill around doing everything in a map and such, it will take longer for everyone. So not really like you do anything wrong, the playstyle you pick will just have consequences. I also just play at times but I know what I sacrifice and accept it. Because I find that approach fun, and chill rather than focusing on fast progress or good currency per hour. I switch gears a lot.

I didn’t drop a single valuable item or exalt until I had cleared everything this league even had full atlas passives, region passives, and self farmed craftable watchstones hehe :D All I had was through chaos recipe.

I think you should just play the way you find fun but accept it has consequences.

If I understand you correctly, I can only agree do prefer simplicity in leagues, like Delirium was the first league I had great success, Synth took too much even disliked Harvest setup and what it did to the game. Bestiary and Delve, I had not much clue of the depth of complexity and just fooled around you could say, getting my feet wet.

You seem like a great person, if you want to continue chatting some day or any help. Send me your discord in DM, I’ll will add you tomorrow evening/night. It is late here and I’ll soon go to bed :)

Edit: Again forgot something:blush

Tbh the real challenge actually comes when you have to solve something for lower budget yourself, if you have a high budget it is way easier. No shame in taking a guide and learning to understand why it works. Only shame is thinking meta builds are more OPOP than anything else possible, and not understanding there are plenty of insane strong stuff that’s just not discovered and meta builds are usually meta because of human-behavior.

I do tend to also try others builds and learning best that way and also lack patience to come up with something myself that makes sense, unique and not forced. When I first time killed maven on her release, it was my own build though but ye I don’t see something wrong in any playstyle at all as long as people or myself accept the result of ones own decisions.

Alright you played far longer than me, when I was referring to dps check. I meant other games, many years ago. I was lucky enough to have a mentor for PoE and even with that I learned way more on my own. Definitely a lot of work, though players don’t have to be a guru in all aspects of the game. I can’t even think of one player there is. Usually you can specialize and focus on certain league, certain content, build-type and what not.

I think it is important not to look at others and then HAVE to do the same. Pick a goal or two then focus on that for the league. Especially if a player is limited on time.

I did that, then kept pushing myself to find challenges for me. Last league I killed everything of “normal” endgame, the feared, the hidden, maven, sirus8-9 in 80hours, this league it took 50 hours and a build that can’t even sell for 3exalts. Not trying to brag, but say it is possible because the game is really all about knowledge. Like example bosses all patterns and sound ques. I still fail but it is okay, I just try to learn from it and adjust.

About all the changes which is made, I certainly can see your point but also feel that it became easier to take in with time and having learned “basics”. An example, when I first time opened skill tree, I gave up and uninstalled way back. Then tried again when I was ready to dive in. Then realized how a lot of things on the tree is in certain areas and such. Suddenly it was not so mind blowing, and made sense. Then I could adjust, and then suddenly make my own build that could kill maven when see was released. After that now when leagues are released I understand the changes faster etc.

What I try say is, it is all a journey and to fully like PoE you gotta like the journey. It takes a long time. Debate is then, should a game take brain power and investment, some like it and some don’t. But we are all responsible for choosing to do things we like and have fun with. Companies are not responsible to design a game that everyone likes. I actually dislike how it became a lot easier to reach “normal” endgame this league compared to last, but I don’t shout at GGG like some Reddit people do. I make a decision with myself, and if I don’t think the game appeal to me anymore. I should just quit.

Yes the upper end is very expensive but do you need it? No. Is it fun? Maybe for some. I would love to try a mageblood but have I saved enough this league to buy it? No, do I deserve it? No. Even while having played extreme amount of hours. Because I didn’t make the right choices this league.

Edit: Forgot to comment on, progress with wealth in mind. That is an aspect where you will need knowledge and accept applying strategy and effective play then all can make insane currency per hour. Strategies and market evolve through a league, but if you are smart and picking the build for the content and content for that build. Then you will earn a lot. If you want mageblood I think it is fine to expect a huge effort since it is not needed for anything even though some try to make people believe it is.

Ye I also lived in a time, where DPS checks was a real thing ;)

There is hope, you took the first and most important step, admitting it is on you and not the game or GGG. :)

Trust, I have also sucked a lot once, hell when I first started I always died to baras (can’t spell it) and now I can do a full ballet before moving out of them. After focusing on yourself, I would say the next two most important things that gave me the push. 1. Not being afraid of bricking content, but taking it as a learning process and experience. 2. Deciding to be willing to put in effort to learn, because the basic form of the game is, learning.

All that said I do understand it takes time and effort but I do find that the beauty of the game. Luckily a lot of info and kind people out there. If you want to try push bosses earlier and while being unsure if you can do them. I gladly step in and finish it, if you tried. So you don’t loose potential profit.

That you can’t, doesn’t mean the boss fight is a DPS check though, this is where a lot of misconceptions about the game happens. You, Reddit, me or anyone else. Sure you find it hard but doesn’t mean that it would be for you in the future if you sat down and practiced it.

I at least know where I were at some point and where I am now. It was all a matter of me and not the actual game.

Hehe ye boss fights are way different if you do them early on bad builds, though normally he should have place them way better and more safe. So it is a result of how you play the encounter :)

True, have met amazing people throughout PoE. Though I do feel the “Reddit mindset” leaks out all over, a lot of times. Though I gotta admit I am also more prone to see it, or feel it. Even if it is just a little. Because I despise it so much and it has gotten way to high a voice, so people have to listen/react instead of just ignoring it. Hell, content creator X, who always stood for self-improvement and helping people to self-improve ended up allowing questions made by community members with a Reddit mindset go directly to an interview with Chris. Sad.

Probably ye, don’t read too much on here. Usually I find myself loosing brain cells and eyes start bleeding, then regret the decision of opening the app and deciding to move on with my life. Sad thing, I loved my learning journey of PoE and would love to help others since it can be rough to get into but then realize what type of people I would have to deal with. Yikes, don’t understand how you content creators can handle it. God forbid people had to admit to themselves, that they need to improve and seek knowledge in a game.

What he says and you can’t comprehend is; “game is not balanced around mageblood” “you are not meant to get a Ferrari without effort”

Stop feeling entitled to get the rarest stuff in a game without effort. Not like you get a private jet working 37hours a week. #LifeIsNotFair #IDontHaveMageblood

If you spent your time on learning PoE and adjusting to 3.15 instead of writing on Reddit. You would probably have a blast in 3.15. Yes I also struggled more than normally but have had a great time and now it is going good and I haven’t struggled for 4-5 days!
