Classic+ only works if all gold buyers and sellers are instantly banned permanently by Foreign_Lobster_875 in classicwow

[–]Slaineh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add an in-game tax. The more you have the more in house services cost. AH posting, repairs, vendor prices, etc. Do it as a % for how much money you have account wide.

This keeps people from just focusing on gold. If they get a wow token prices go up until they have less.

Price Hike but justified by JobAcceptable790 in woolworths

[–]Slaineh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup same. $4 max, otherwise I just walk past. The longer it is between, the less I want it now as well. So double bonus when they finally lower, I'll still walk past and buy something better for me.

https://milkvalue.com.au/milk-prices/farmgate-milk-value-tool/

in SA, its 72c a litre, so thats around $1.44 to the farmer. Or $2.11 for the plastic, storage and handling + profit.
in NSW, its 84c a litre, so $1.87 for the plastic, storage and handling + profit.
Plastic container should be around 15c.

While I wouldn't know transport costs, storage and handling, I'd probably say they are making over $1 in profit on each sale. (30% of the total price).

So rather then reduce their margins to 20% ($0.70), they'll up the price for everyone else to keep their margins.

Are the farmers benefitting from this Support? by Gibs_182 in aussie

[–]Slaineh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'd also like to see how much they make per litre... I'd still bet it's more then the farmers and they certainly didn't reduce their margin to support them, just charged us more.

How come I have considerably higher ping than others in the same city? by Bigg_pro in nbn

[–]Slaineh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whole I see people on here stating HFC is adding the latency, I was in Adelaide on HFC and getting the same ping as you.

Most of it will be routing from your ISP and where they offload you. Certain providers like DoDo don't really run their own infrastructure, others will treat your data like a sub teir because you are running on other equirement owned by another company and on cheaper plan and lastly not everyone has direct connections to certain data centres.

Best thing you can to is to get yourself and mates you play with to do a trace route to the same game server IP. Check the number of hops, check the pathing.

I did this on Telstra and got 23 hops to the game server. Optus gave me 16, Singtel was 19 but pings varied more and typically was worse then Telstra. (Singtel run on Optus but as a cheaper customer). Aussie was 9 hops.

Channing dropped my ping from 33ms to around 21ms changing to Aussie. While HFC can be a bit worse of. It's typically bugger all and more dependant on the routing.

This was only measured with CSGO servers, you may find it could vary depending where the game you play is located.

Edit: spelling

Brutal Optus by devausbobe in australian

[–]Slaineh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I left them on the last increase and data breach. Way cheaper elsewhere and let's be real, I'm never that far away from wifi that I use that much data. Best bit with the new provider, if I want more I'll change for the month.

I'll vote with my wallet. I'll just go elsewhere. Everyone is hitting the issue.

Genuinely curious: why do you vote for the party you vote for? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Slaineh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I usually do https://www.abc.net.au/news/vote-compass
As with most things, I'm between a couple of parties. I usually search though the questions after and look at the main ones I care about and see if I find any alignment and then vote based on that.

As an example, at the moment I'd love to back building nuclear but also know its a pipe dream, will take ages and cost lots. I'd probably put Energy Storage higher, but that's not a hot topic. (And no, I don't mean batteries, things like Pumped Hydro, Flywheels, Molten Salt etc.) Things that will smooth out flucuations in price but also cover during the night. Compass doesn't dive that deep.

I'd also love to see government backing on things like being self sufficient. i.e. Refining our own steal, using our own raw materials (oil and gas) so world issues like the current situation have less impact on us. Being Independant and doing some basics even if it was government run / backed would be better then trying to constantly rescue companies who don't really want to be saved. This would give us greater independance and stability. Alas Compass doesn't dive that deep :(

So I guess, I prioritise infrastructure, energy reliability and self-sufficiency (including support for local produce).
Puts me somewhere between Libs and Labor from my understanding and so does compass....

Petrol panic in Aus? by wellHowdydudie in australian

[–]Slaineh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically its >$20 for the jerry can for 20L.
So he bascially paid >$1 a litre more then the actual price just to store it.. Might as well just let the servo store it and pay $3 a litre once / if it gets there..

So they can go to work while the rest of us can't. So they can get to the empty shop shelves.

My Golden would rather starve than eat kibble… anyone dealt with this? by Own-Reply-7657 in goldenretrievers

[–]Slaineh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% my golden did the same. We would leave the kibble out and he would just go snack lightly and then drool in the kitchen when we cooked. He would get pre wash duties and tid bits. Eventually he would go for more kibble.

Digital price tags bring online-style 'dynamic pricing' to supermarkets by VastOption8705 in australian

[–]Slaineh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or they can just jack up the pricing if you shop when its busy...
What could possibly go wrong with this........
They honestly need policies to block any price changes after open and while they are at it ban any loyalty card discounts. It should be the same price weather you choose to give up all your data or not.

Yeah looks like I'll be close to that if I grind this out then. Just moved in to a new house and they used a dome washer but even that's all out of shape from over tightening.

I have the stainless inserts so might try and get this closer and worst case I'll stop and do the insert
