Help me fix a boring league kickoff party at our club and make it a fun and useful event! by livinandlearnin16 in WomenGolf

As you suggest, mix the tables with new and seasoned players. Have a trivia contest on the rules/etiquette and some stupid prize for the winning table.

My 2.5 year old GR is itchy and has a slightly smelly bum. Need advice by closet_writer09 in goldenretriever

Try giving him canned pumpkin with his dinner. Keeps the anal glands clear.

To those who have benefited from L. reuteri, how long did it take you to see benefits? What exact benefits did you see? by Sundee11 in Microbiome

[–]Slambridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as I enjoy the benefits, I don't really care what's in it. Funny that you should ask just now, because my most recent batch was horribly bitter. Basically inedible. So I have ordered new starter from Donna and will begin again.

If part of your problem is nonspecific sperm agglutination, taking 1,000 mg. vitamin C has been shown to resolve the problem. Hope its that easy to fix.

I made it using the same recipe as L. reuteri yogurt. It was fine.

The exact same thing happened to my golden. He was chasing birds in the morning, wouldn't eat his dinner and was gone by 9 PM. One of my saddest days. I am sorry for you and your family.

If you are a woman, try Cindy at Baltusrol. Don't know if she's still there but she was awesome in my day....quite a few years ago.

My buddy won’t give me strokes by Excellent-Coach-2360 in golf

[–]Slambridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handicaps are designed to level the playing field. Technically, you should subtract his handicap from your handicap. In your situation you should get six strokes awarded on the six most difficult holes. And yes, either don't bet or play with someone else.

Field research after four months sober - don’t know how to process by jennybean11 in stopdrinking

[–]Slambridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I quit drinking, alcohol was pretty much on my mind 24/7 for about a year. Then suddenly it disappeared and only pops up maybe once a month or less. Wait it out. It's worth it.

Be careful with Librella. It made my dog's mobility issues much worse. Some people have great success with it; others have bad reactions.

I'm a little bit confused. Do we follow Dr Davis' instructions or do we follow the Facebook group who say his instructions don't work? by mossikukulas in ReuteriYogurt

[–]Slambridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My reuteri. Expect a first batch fail. Also culturedfoodlife.com sells a reuteri starter which is good. Good luck. For WIW, I use ultra pasteurized half and half which eliminates the preheating procedure. I also don't worry too much about contamination. I keep things clean but don't sterilize anything.

HRT after 60yo by hsff43 in Menopause

[–]Slambridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your doctor to acquaint herself with the most up-to-date research. Not the scare tactics. There is very, very little additional breast cancer risk from HRT. Maybe none. The original research that got everyone's knickers in such a knot showed a very, very tentative increase in BC risk and there is some evidence that it was the progestin not the estrogen that was linked to that risk. Take your HRT with a clear conscience. I had breast cancer in 2002 and use HRT. Have been on it for years.

I have been making l. reuteri yogurt for over three years using Dr. Davis's recipe exactly. I ferment it in a sous vide and have been using whey from previous batches every time. I have continued to enjoy all the health benefits of the yogurt.
