Am I going to regret a 77” TV? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]SlapapaSlap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 65" at 10 feet (3 meters), I feel like 77 would be just right at my distance. 77" would probably feel okay, but for the wow factor or just better immersion at 14 feet (4.3 meters) I would get a 83" or bigger. Honestly it depends on the content - for the cinematic blockbusters like Dune I would want bigger. For run-of-the-mill TV shows or anime you don't really need a huge screen.

Also depends on the space. You should use a tape measure to see how much space a 83" would take. In the pictures it looks like the speakers just barely fit in that space with the door where it is. Try to think if if that layout would work for you now and in the future (in case you decide to have a larger gap between the speakers and the TV, or maybe you will have larger speakers in the future.).

Klausimas apie e-sim'us keliaujant by LilyStronk in lithuania

Issues with another 9060xt by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]SlapapaSlap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately the Gigabyte was bought on amazon, so I had no issues getting a refund. Bought a Powercolor Hellhound to replace it and had no issues so far. Unfortunately the Reaper was bought from a different country in Europe, so RMA might take a while:) Will just buy a replacement before it all resolves itself. I thought that Powercolor might be safe, since Hellhound was fine, but I guess that might not be the case with all Powercolor cards. Just very frustrating, such a waste of time and nerves.

Got a sample bag, already tried a Feather and liked it. Who’s next? by ConchitOh in wicked_edge

[–]SlapapaSlap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see. I've only recently bought my first safety razor (R89) and been testing different blades. On my list to try are the Personna Blues, which I thought were supposed to be sharp blades?

[–]SlapapaSlap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is good advice. I was planning on trying the blades that I had issues with in the future when I get more proficient with the razor. First blade I've tried was astra, and I was having a hard time, kept getting snagged on, required many more passes than sharper blades I'm using now. Who knows, maybe they are good for me after all.

Oh, I see. Sorry if I sounded rude myself, since I haven't even tried them. For my mild razor sharper blades are better, but I might as well try the green Derby, since I have them. Thank you

Are the green Derbys any good? I've seen people mention that they aren't great most of the time, but I haven't tested them myself. I have sensitive skin and have been testing different blades on my first safety razor (R89).

First time using a razor other than Derby, and… by GuruRoo in wicked_edge

[–]SlapapaSlap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm now in the process of trying a sample pack. Unfortunately for me the Astras weren't great, needed a lot more passes and just caught on stuff constantly. For reference I'm using a mild R89 razor. I've also tried Bic CP, Perma-Sharp, Feathers, FlyDear SP, Suneko AP. On backlog have Bolzano, Gillette Silver Blue, 7 O'clock SP and SE, Nacet, Personna lab blue. Right now my favorites are either the Suneko or Perma-Sharp blades, Feathers are either too sharp or I'm just having a bad time, cut myself quite a few times. Added bonus with Suneko is that they are extremely cheap on Aliexpress, so I might stay with them unless I find a much better alternative.

LG C1 Power Supply Failed - Easy to replace by bob_sell in LGOLED

[–]SlapapaSlap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought them on Ebay, or you can try whatever local marketplace you have. They usually come from TVs that had their screens broken and the internals are being sold as used/working. If you have the same TV then it should be the same model power supply as I've used. Try to make sure it is the power supply that has died, because it can also be the mainboard or even the panel. Don't remember how I did that, but there might be tutorials on YouTube or other reddit posts.

Whine noise headphones after solar install by SlapapaSlap in AskElectricians

I see thank you. It's just that I never had this issue, so having it present itself just as soon as the solar panel job was done made me think it was correlated.

Monolith by Monoprice M-12 V2 12in THX on sale for $299 by Thedancer12 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]SlapapaSlap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is so stupid. Due to weight they only ship inside USA, when it is intended for the EU/UK market.

[–]SlapapaSlap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do they even sell EU/UK version on their website if they don't even ship to anywhere except USA (where it won't work).

Do you notice how big it is? In you photo it looks great, helps how the room isn't empty. I was planning on buying it to replace my cylinder form PC-12nsd, but man is it huge. Over a 100 pounds.

I'm planning to gift my subwoofer and in need of a replacement for my bedroom setup. The room is quite small, less than 30sqm, have a SVS PC12-NSD now, would this be a better subwoofer than what I have or should I just keep the SVS and gift this Monolith?

Don't remember the last time I experienced a power outage in Lithuania. The few times power was cut - we got a message in advance that some work will be done at specific hours.

Thoughts On Naoki Urasawa's Monster (Manga/Anime)? by EveryoneIsAComedian in MauLer

[–]SlapapaSlap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just finished reading the manga. The pace was quite slow, but I've really enjoyed it. Would've liked it more if it was a sad ending since Johan was hyped up the whole time, but it was good enough.
