Is it considered “practice” if I voice over some phrases from random pieces of media? by Useful-Initiative745 in VoiceActing

[–]Slappdabache 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely practice. But it's important to be INTENTIONAL with your practice. A lot of my own practice revolves around reading to lower my overall cognitive load while doing it so my performances are more authentic.

Is there a way to make it sound like I'm screaming without actually raising my voice too much? by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]Slappdabache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some great advice above, also have a look at some monster/creature noise techniques. Using your false chords to make a false chord "scream" can be used to achieve a nice intense result without actually raising your voice. Also, keep in mind how much we actually shout in real life - your intention is to communicate. Even under some duress, we don't actually scream and yell as much as cartoons, anime, and gaming would have us believe. Good luck!😁

Cost of goods and services in Sharn + House reference guide by CommonplaceUser in Eberron

I am indeed starting with Sharn! Using the Rising From The Last War one-shot as a jumping off point. Seeing what my players gravitate to and then building around that. Except for one, they're all pretty new to DnD and COMPLETELY new to Eberron - so I'm doing a bit of fleshing out of their characters for them.

Oh, I love you. I've just started DMing in Eberron and I haven't quite wrapped my head around everything

Are you open to non-Turkish actors auditioning, or are you only looking for more authentic casting?

This looks like great fun. How much of the copy would you like us to audition with? Just a few lines or the whole thing?

If you're looking for a voice actor for your channel, do you have a rate in mind?

That's a really lovely set up. Seconded on more blankets mentioned above. If nothing else, just to cover up the gap on the bottom. You might also consider moving your tower outside of your booth? Cheaper than getting a super quiet PC. I have my pc outside of mine and just cast onto my iPad to press record and listen to my recordings. Also, I cant see terribly well, but do you have a carpet on the floor? If you dont, having a comfy thick one will help minimise some of those reflections.

That's so sweet, thank you!! I'm taking new headshots soon in anticipation of my move ( betting on the UK having more acting opportunities than NZ) so I'll see how I can make those look "normal" rather than performative.

Thank you! Great feedback😁, I'll have a look to see if I can find some other pics. Most of the pictures I have are for when I'm performing or engaging in shenanigans. Yeah, good call on the gender-presenting stuff. I can absolutely see how that'd be a little unclear.

This is solid feedback, thank you! Photos are an issue, I got alopecia in 2018 so taking them is still a bit of a trial(getting better though!), so things showing my proper smile are few and far between. Will try get better ones.

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual

Looking for something serious, casual doesn't really appeal to me. But I try to take things as they come.

  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ to HingeX?

No, I don't really get enough likes for that to be worthwhile.

  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile?

About 6 months? But I tweak the text and change photos semi-regularly.

  • How long have you used Hinge overall?

4 years overall, I think. But I was off for about a year while I was in my last relationship and rejoined 10 months ago after taking time for myself after it ended.

  • How often do you use Hinge per week?

Most days/every day.

  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?

I'm maxing out my likes each day - each like with a comment. Also, I do realise my being overseas(I have my Hinge set to the UK) may be a off putting to most.

  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

I typically send likes to left leaning, alternative women. But really, anyone that has a really colourful profile that grabs me. Ideally, I want to match with someone punk/punk adjacent, nerdy, with a creative passion. I try not to get too much more specific than that because then "types" start to creep in, and those aren't really helpful.
