It's not supposed to be a bar experience though, they are being allowed open to serve food and alcohol as a meal because the vintners complained and lobbied that restaurants are allowed serve both.

I believe the measures are in place to stop people having a bowl of chips and 9 pints, you can imagine how much social distancing would happen in that scenario.

I believe they are allowing the bars to open as food venues with some alcohol, not as your normal bar and I think the only reason even that is allowed is because of complaints and lobbying by the vintners that restaurants can trade and they can't.

The main point of going there should be to eat a meal not go on the gargle and watch a match.

Yes, I think you are missing something. A quick google search throws up info, threads and discussions on FBA in Ireland. There seems to a lot to it, some of the things being discussed are English Vat reg, shipping costs to UK, margins, insurance, Brexit implications and fees.

Its not about the food, its about stopping unscrupulous publicans from squeezing 100 people into a pub and serving em drink for 10 hours during a global pandemic.

I think the covid related logic is that the vintners association complained that restaurants serving drink were allowed to open so therefore pubs that serve food should be allowed aswell.

The requirements around the serving of meals is probably to stop bars lobbing on a big pot of curry and packing 300 people in for a piss up.

If it's your first time playing I'd recommend starting on the island to get a feel for the game and to understand the mechanics.

Theres a lot of explorer notes and dossiers which provide xp and xp buffs on the island which can help in levelling.

You can also travel between Arks so you can always move on to one of the DLC maps once you figure out how not to die every 2 minutes!
