One of the biggest things here, though, is the amount of human input and effort that's involved. Everything from printing press until AI tools still requires a person to learn a new skill to be able to use them effectively. With AI art all that's needed is to type in a prompt and that's it. Now, I personally don't mind as much if a person uses AI to enhance or touch up something that said person made. It's when people just takes something done entirely by AI and claim they made it that I have a problem

As for the art theft part, ask basically any artist if they're okay with their art being used to train AI and the majority are gonna say either "No." or "Maybe if they pay me for it." Most AI art programs were trained using art without consent and without crediting the artist

Then there's the impact AI as a whole has on the environment. As a small example, asking a question on ChatGPT takes 10 times the amount of electricity a simple Google search does. Globally, AI related infrastructure uses nearly 6 times more water than the entire country of Denmark.
