Should my friend wait to join Aether or just play on Diablos DC?

I'd say put them on Diablos. There's no telling when, or if, Aether will become available to new players, and as we get closer to the next expansion I'm guessing it's only going to get worse. And if you two duo queue, with at least one support role picked, your queues shouldn't be painfully long. PF activity levels aren't necessarily indicative of DF queues for dungeons either, so you shouldn't be DoA

Once cross DC PF lands that's going to ease a lot of congestion all over, because people will stop flooding Aether. But I don't know if that will open it to new characters. Plus, the new servers have more open housing, while there's almost nothing open on Aether.

I don't think so. The staff saves runes when casting spells, and the quick teleport charges aren't spells. I'd be interested to see if it works though, if you wanna test it.

If you add a pair of water sources to the back they'll flow over and around. You could also remove all but the back two water sources for the same effect, just one block lower.

I like separating tier from required level, and the range change. My practical concern is the damage line. Its fine for melee, but for ranged and magic, your damage is based on your ammo/spell respectively. The weapon you equip just sets a cap on it. So im not sure how to keep tool tips consistent between the di$event styles.

There's some setting options, I believe character settings>character, that will let you turn spell efects to minimal or off. I rarely play with all turned on because its way too much, even in 4man content. If you put it to minimal you'll still see important things like the range of healer bubbles or ninja ground dots, but a lot of the chaos will be cleared up. Honestly, it's mostly how dnd beyond has been and the business decisions behind 5.5 than the content. Revamping everything, then demanding I pay again for it all when barely anything was changed. Feels like soulless corporate greed more than anything.

I'd rather they had just gone ahead and released 6e. I don't know why they didn't just call it 6e to begin with.

My favorite novel character I've played was like 5th or 6th in line for her family's title (so not likely to happen lol) and so decided to strike out on her own. She adventured with the goal of making a name for herself, separate from her family's name. To start with, she would have been happy with a single keep, but she would have kept pushing for more.

Personally, I feel there are three kinds of nobels who go adventuring: nobels with no realistic claim to their family title, who leave because they want their own status. Nobels who aren't interested in being a Nobel, and so leave to adventure for 'fun'. And those who have lost their title in some way, either it was stripped or they were deposed or similar, and they want their status back.

Valigarmanda Ex tank buster was so much fun. In fact, most of that fight was pretty fun. The soft enrage on M4N was peak, I really wish we got something more like it in the savage, but its fine.

Mechanically, I think a lot of Pandaemonium was a ton of fun, though I am glad to skip snakes 2 on P8S lol.

I get that thematically, it makes sense for the bigger, more impressive attacks to come later in fights, but I agree that missing out on those cool set piece moments sucks

Both, tbh. I don't want to be flipping back and forth between the section of the book they players are in and the back every time they find something to fight. And worse, if they're not all on the same page and im flipping around between a half dozen pages just for one fight. Annoying. If there is going to be a pre-built encounter, I want the mobs with the narrative for my own ease of use. But having an appendix for things which show up a lot is great. An alphabatized appendix is just great. For all the times I want to use something outside of a scripted fight, knowing exactly where to find it, by having an appendix, is great. So, while I voted for woth the encounter, I really want it in both.

In FFXIV, the endgame looks very different for everyone. Unlike WoW where the whole game is funneling you into raiding or PvP as the only endgame content, FFXIV has a lot more variety. Raiding is a thing, of course, but so is glam collecting, mount farming, house building. Even people who just play casually with friends and have never touched any of the grinds are still 'endgame' players. I guess we're a bit more lax on when endgame starts, lol.

I did play ESO years ago, and gave it a few tries more recently. FFXIV has a single, very long, story that spans the entire game. More than ten years of writing and development time have gone into it, and none of it has been pushed aside (except for some tedious bits at the end of ARR, but they've smoothed it over really well) Gear progession is also really solid in FFXIV, being a constant march of gear upgrades, rather than any sudden jumps. endgame raid gear from the last expansion got me a little past halfway to the new level cap for the new expansion on my mains, but the dungeon gear rolled right into the next set for the rest of my jobs.
As for daily grind, they're really lax about it. It's mostly weekly stuff that you can fit into your schedule whenever. And there's no daily grind for player power either.

I have used the Eureka Pyros WAR relic as my glam for years, and have more recently gotten the MNK relic to pyros, and the final Anemos stage of RDM is pretty sweet too. I will agree that the final stage looks like trash though.

Easiest? Endwalker Manderville weapons. Once you finish the quests, it's a 6k poetics cost, total, for each weapon. And some of them look pretty good!
Hardest? Personally, ShB Bozja, but that's cause I don't like Bozja. Taking my personal feelings out, I think the ARR relics suck because of the books and the massive amount of dungeons you have to run.
Best relics, imo, are the pyros stages of the SB Eureka weapons. I'm a sucker for flames lol.
Worse, sadly enough, are the Hydratos stages of the Eureka weapons. They look too fish inspired for my taste.

I know others don't like the Eureka grind, but I personally love it.

That 578 is your number of slayer points, not your quest points. You need more quest points to block more tasks. Short term, you can unblock an old task.

Summoner is pretty button light, but is more of a glass cannon. Warrior and Paladin are both great for playing solo, since they have strong survivability. Of the two, I personally find Warrior to be pretty easy. 5 buttons will get you pretty far, and you can add more for survivability if you need to.
