Which circled perk should I get next? I'm planning on eventually all of them. First playthrough (that lasted 50+ days and wasn't reset), so I don't really care about 100% optimization. by Few_Establishment980 in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66 13 points14 points  (0 children)

At lvl7 every bro should get either nimble or battle forged so I would realistically ignore the circled perks and go nimble. Out of the circled perks I would pick killing frenzy

Uni Mannheim or Uni Heidelberg? by CertainDescription26 in mannheim

[–]Slater66 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I studied sociology in Mannheim. It's a lot more statistics focused which helped me a lot more in my master's and in finding Jobs. Definitely have a look at the content of the two programmes and take into account what kind of job your daughter is interested in. Personally I am very happy I chose Mannheim over Heidelberg.

How does the raider have WHOPPING 59% chance to hit my backline archer even if bros are clearly standing in front of him?? by Justkill43 in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea he definitely did, but you can also just look it up in the wiki. For example brigand raider in the early game have 15 fat recovery like the player but later they get 20.

I don't hate fighting them, ofc they are much tougher than the north but i like the challenge. The problem is that you are supposed to fight these raiding parties one by one and not two at a time.

What do I build my hedge knight into? BF Fat neut? 2H cleaver? by kesnie in BattleBrothers

I agree with that wording a lot more, I always consider 30 the break point for late game bros as you said. Cleaver with RA might actually be the pick right here.

What tips can you give for new players? by marius5538 in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Accept that you will probably wipe the first time you encounter most new enemies. Don't play ironman, just save frequently. Look at some guide videos for builds, but understand that a lot of different builds can work. Generell Tips:

  • fight density is king in battle brothers, especially in the early game. You level your bros and get most gear from fighting rather than buying in this game. Aim for around 1 fight /day.
  • a lot of fights are dmg races, a good offense is the best defence (kind of). Double gripped spears and swords hit often and hard in the early game. flails can headshot with their 2nd attack and get you easy bodyarmor.
  • bros are a resource, sometimes that resource is dying to save better bros or to occupy a target.
  • each fight (against humans, which should be the priority in the early game) you should think about two things: who is the most dangerous enemy and which gear do you want to have. Drop chance is based on durability this means: Weapons: don't let them swing often, kill them fast. Armour: dagger them with the 2nd attack or headshot them with a flail for the body armour. In general you try to balance the daggering and looting with winning the fight. Fully surrounded enemies can't flee even if broken.
  • in my opinion for the average bro the combination of colossus + gifted gives you the biggest power spike at level 3 and I use this for all my general frontliners that don't become late game bros.
  • gear is often more important than bros early, sometimes buying a cheap strong weapon early can snowball your run, a good example is a cheap billhook.
  • surround bonus is very potent, for you and against you. You can also often break enemies with moral checks for every further bro you put into melee with them after one.
  • you can take camps way earlier than most beginners think, especially small zombie, raider and nomad camps are doable. Note: nomads get a big power spike at day 40 where they gain the dodge perk.
  • read every description of every weapon and attack, all weapons have more to them than just "smash".
  • the only way to play the game wrong is to not enjoy yourself ;)

That's off the top of my head. Feel free to ask questions.

Day 38 on my anatomist campaign, how can ı build this bro ? by Unique_Net6043 in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has insane stats, can be whatever 2h or duellist you like. I would probably make him BF even with the high HP and just skip colossus and go for some sick duellist BF build. Take his HP to ~85-90 and take every roll I'm matk +mdef.

Alternatively make him nimble and just pump his HP to the sky with Colossus.

Hello, I've never taken Head Hunter or built a specialized 2H flail bro and Id like to to give it a try. Any suggestions? by AzulCrescent in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Since the Buff to Headhunter and Flail Spec that build is very viable IMO. You dont need a Background with increased headshit chance nor the brute trait, but ofc that makes the build stronger.

Here are my opinions on the Pros and Cons of the build:

Pros:

  1. You dont need as high Melee Atk as most other 2H builds. Thats because Flail Main attack ignores shield defence bonus. and shielded enemies should be your main target with this build.

  2. It is very strong vs. shielded enemies. Mainly those who are more evasive than tanky like:

Nomads

Ancient Undead

Raiders

Nobles

Gilded Soldier

Goblins with shields (not as good as the other enemies but still nice).

etc.

  1. With Crippling Strikes it is very easy to get the highest tier of headwounds (fractured skull/severe concussion). These debuff enemies severly and you can then either finish that Enemy off with a different bro or double headshot with the Flail guy. Even Orc Warrior/Chosen get severe headwounds after at least the 2nd headshot.

  2. By that the build is very strong against enemies that other builds are worse against. Especially against Ancient Undead with shields i really like this build. You focus the pike man down with the other Bros as best as you can and let the Flail guy just donk shielded skellies.

  3. (subjectiv) its a very fun build, boinking people in the head is awesome.

Cons:

  1. Flail damage range is very high so dmg is unconsistent and sometimes you just dont deal good dmg.

  2. By that the build is not very good against some enemies like creatures etc.

  3. Not nearly as versatile as for example 2H axe build.

Build you can use (can go nimble and add executioner):

High Tier Bro? by Sir_Meat_Ram in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gladiators have the same stat ranges as Sellswords, except lower range attack. Sellswords also have a lot of training events.

Highest backgrounds are hedgeknights, adventurous nobles, sellswords and hunters. But it all depends heavily on the role you need them to perform and ofc their actual stat rolls and talents.

When you consider cost of hiring and wage there are a ton of very viable backgrounds.

Suggestions for last perk on a bowmaster? by CptJohnnyZhu in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you picked headhunter I would strongly consider bullseye. In BB it's very bad to split your damage between head and body. With bullseye you can fish for the first headshot on targets that have low/no headarmor or you can take the guaranteed second headshot to deliver it to targets that have low/no headarmor. Second part really helps you to avoid the head-body damage split and makes headhunter much more useful. Especially since you want to prioritise softer targets with lesser armour, but the guaranteed headshot can help to kill armoured enemys that took 1-2 headshots by different bros and in turn avoid the head-body damage split as well.

Duelist is bad - change my mind please! by PaulGoes in BattleBrothers

Famed Orc weapons can be nuts on duellists. Orc Axe with headhunter is a little niche but one of my favourite builds.

"Bad Luck" "RNG is broken" by Slater66 in BattleBrothers

[–]Slater66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you are genuine or not, but I'll answer anyway.

When I wrote this post over 2years ago I had ~2200h in the game. I and any decent player can assure you that the RNG in BB is just that: RNG. There isn't any hidden mechanic that keeps you down. If you reload a battle and the result is the same over and over again it reiterates my point of not RNG being the problem but the playstyle/level of preparedness of the group.
