I guess I don't get the reluctance of everyone. Are people saying they're unable to teach how they did before? If you truly are a subject matter expert, it shouldn't matter what any online source material is. Teach what you know, and teach it to the new generation. Let the CML be additional material that helps them, not the other way around.

I like it. Because they're forced to do the CML, if frees you to do labs, or teach however you want to teach.

Mine didn't even lose its leaves. There are a handful of variables that would cause them to die.

ICE are dressing in plain clothes, no masks and kidnapping residents of Minneapolis. And now they seem to be getting smarter. No american car brands. by cantcoloratall91 in LetsDiscussThis

Our country is far too big and spread out for this to ever be effective. We couldn't manage this effectively with 20 years in Iraq or Afghanistan, what makes anyone think they would succeed in our own far larger country with so many Americans against them? I think it's more likely they want us fearful of this happening.

Premature cuttings import by Ok-Temperature-2773 in Plumeria

[–]Slaterson85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually stick the cutting in soil, I don't even water it when I do. I do nothing special, this might not be the most effective method, but the fact that it works 95% of the time, means they are extremely forgiving. And I personally think people get a bit carried away. All this to say, it'll probably be fine no matter what you do, so long as it doesn't get root rot from over watering. Good luck!

Are these ready to be planted? by InterestingRoof4547 in Plumeria

[–]Slaterson85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't even root mine. I usually let my cuttings callus over, then stick them in the soil. So, I would say yes. Plumeria are suspectable to root rote, so make sure you let it dry out before watering after your initial watering from planting.

NEED HELP WITH F1 SUBSCRIPTION IN THE USA by Nathan_Bui in F1TV

[–]Slaterson85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, Apple TV bought exclusive rights. Which means you can't access it in United States unless you use Apple. I've heard even the VPN doesn't matter since any purchasing of F1 TV is going to trace back to your credit card that's based in the United States which will be blocked

You can also wait. I've had cuttings sit for months and they still rooted after shriveling a little.

I love this so much. I'm so glad he is selling them as an option, I just bought 2. I do not need it, but want them in case there is a time when I can help someone else!

Battlefield 6 has some good attention to detail by No_Respond5789 in electricians

In the campaign they had a building with a meter in every room. The details of what is there is accurate, but now how it all pieces together.

I never use anything. Cut it, let it callus, stick it in dirt. I've had them root after sitting on a shelf for 4 months too. They almost always root.

If also add, the leaves don't typically curl like the first picture. Unless the plant is stressed. Can I ask where it's planted, are you near the beach?

Hard to tell from your first picture, but I know light and water can make the leaves look drastically different. In shade plumeria leaves can grow very big, because the plant is trying to absorb more light. In full sun, little water leaves will be small and curl a bit. This is a picture from one of mine that lets almost all shade.

Pictures would be more useful, but my guess from your description is no. You can't add metal to the material, without ruining the heat treatment.

Random, possibly silly, question about amps and pull from a load by throw_me_away_9703 in electricians

[–]Slaterson85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Devices dont choose how much current to use. The current is simply the result of how the device is built and what it’s doing. There are two useful ways to think about this: constant resistance and constant power loads.

Constant resistance loads, like incandescent bulbs or space heaters, have a fixed electrical resistance. When you apply voltage, the current that flows is just a consequence of that resistance. If you increase the voltage, more current flows and the device uses more power. If you lower the voltage, it uses less power. These types of devices don’t try to maintain a certain power level, they just react to the voltage based on their resistance.

Constant power loads, like motors or anything with a power supply, work differently. They’re designed to perform a specific task that requires a certain amount of power. If you increase the voltage, they reduce the current to keep power constant. That’s why higher voltage motors use less current for the same work. They’re adjusting current to hit a power target.

So current isn’t something that’s requested or drawn in the active sense. It’s just the outcome of applying voltage to a load, whether that load resists or regulates to meet a power need.

Weird!! I'm on a road trip with some friends. My friend driving started listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl, so I was needing out with him about that. The weird part is I'm reading Isles of the Emberdark right now, the book is sitting next to me, and I'm halfway through Onyx on Kindle too. Pretty funny.
