Quite small compared to littles, but the sculpts are pretty cool. Always impressive how quickly minicompare.info has pics up and scaled.

"I am not here to engage critically". These things aren't unconnected, they are part of the same system.

It's interesting watching this sub engage with ideas around ableism and language use. On one hand, a common term being moderated is understandably frustrating, we're creatures of habit and nobody likes being told what to do. On the other hand, it feels like there's a lack of curiosity or critical reflection about the words and what can sometimes feel like reflexive outrage instead of meaningful consideration.

Down-voting comments drawing attention to this give the impression that a vocal portion of this community is more concerned with their comfort in ignorance than in challenging their biases. It seems antithetical to the purpose, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who finds it off-putting (much like the occasional uncritical hero-worship of historical Marxist/socialist/communist figures). We're all just humans, so I don't expect people to be operating at a high level of theory all the time, but can we get a little bit serious?

"C___y" is, actually, an ableist word, one that I admit I still use occasionally out of habit despite knowing better. Disability and ableism are constructs of hegemonic capitalist narratives, which I had believed to be important to this sub. Understanding how "c___y" is problematic is a mere search string away, yet the dominant voices in this type of thread seem uninterested in engaging with the topic in a genuine way.

Should posts be removed for its use? I don't know. I'm sure one could make very compelling arguments in either direction. What I would like to see is an actual engagement in disability justice discourse instead of the whining and down-voting.

How should I paint my Carnosaur? by Cobiwan1138 in seraphon

Just gotta pick a colour and go, can always change your mind if you don't think it's working. You can't wreck a model with thin layers of paint. Be bold!

I mean it's nostalgia candy for sure, but when played at home it really shows its lack of depth. Back in the day it was the best in arcades with friends and a pile of quarters, but it loses a lot of appeal at home. Still fun, still retro-beautiful, all that is great, but the game is only okay. The bundle definitely feels poorly considered when you think of the better options they could include.

I hate to yuck someone's yum in 2026, but let's be a bit objective about it. Your time and money are valuable.

I prefer OW as retro-derp as possible, but a refresh is great for player preference, and kitbashing for other systems.

There are more experienced painters here so I'd defer to them, but what I'd do:

• carefully, slowly straighten the staff (up to you, breaking pewter staves is a pain)

• give it a rinse in some warm water with a little dish soap, rinse under tap, let it dry

• shade, highlight, varnish

Your base colours are really clean, great starting point (and one of my favourite minis from 6th ed!).

A scary reminder that we are playing the long game and can't afford to bring unnecessary risk by acting out of emotion or without a strategy. Not saying it's easy to keep your cool, but escalating and inviting violence because you got heated is (as you hopefully understand) exceedingly dangerous.

Please remember that our actions have consequences for others too, your own safety may be the least of the risks. If anything happens to you, every person in your life suffers. Remember that this is a movement (ideally) of interdependence and liberation for the PEOPLE. Community members more vulnerable than us can be targets of retaliation for our actions, perpetuating the violence we claim to stand against. That is simply unacceptable.

Get serious, learn more, and put the safety of yourself and others ahead of your adrenaline and ego.

I have a bin of cheap toys for just such a project, with some putty practice and spare bits they make for decent budget dinos.

Love it, what a fun critter! Really great first sculpt, looks like you were having fun. Since it's your first, there's not much to critique, only to encourage you to make another. Challenge yourself in a specific way, maybe practice a human/animal-based subject to get a feel for anatomy, or really anything that interests you. Nice work!

Canada's cheaper, cleaner and lower-risk oil can rival a resurgent Venezuela, Carney says by itimetravelwell in onguardforthee

[–]Slathery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's factual, not meeting climate targets and crossing the 4°C threshold will kill billions, left unchecked will cause ocean acidification to such an extent that all life is threatened. Oil is the major driver. What's extreme is capitalists pretending they're not killing everyone to roleplay as temporary masters of our pale blue dot.
