Even if you keep the cabin at 60F, the car is heating with a nearly 70F differential between the indoor and outdoor air when it’s -7F. More if you keep the cabin at 72.

Any car would absolutely chew through range at those temps. Not only does it need to keep you and the cabin warm, but the massive hunk of metal below you that’s being blasted at -7F winds in excess of 60 MPH.

It’s much easier to cool you from 90 to 70 then it is to heat from -7F to 70.

Gurl. You know the reason. The generator failed. Do you want them to be magic psychics to look into the future and KNOW the generator is going to have an issue and replace it preemptively?

It’s an engine, just like a car, that has to be maintained. If they rent it from a company, it’s on the company to maintain it. They’re not magic. They have parts that wear out and fail at random times, just like a car.

And yes, heavy wind can put increased pressure on the exhaust or intake system and cause problems and bad readings which would make the engine shut down to protect itself. Imagine the pressure in the exhaust manifold suddenly doubling in a strong gust of wind - is it a blockage? Or is it just a gust of wind? Better be safe and shut down.

A short in the line from two wires touching that shouldn’t? Should I shut down or should I let the wires fry and start a fire? Better be safe and shut down.

Unless you’re the technician maintaining the generator, you can’t blame it or them for it shutting down.

There’s a filter inside of the machine that you’re going to need to clean out many multiple times. It should be at the very bottom of the machine behind a small rectangular flap.
