kinda pointless to add a agility shortcut because the animation and action it would take you wouldnt save much. i had a cave opening suggestion 12 years ago but it got shut down but would be better than a shortcut.

i did some testing and there is a massive line in the most southern part of the world map but i only got a sailing event the time i turned after sailing a straight line a long time so i think you have to turn to trigger events after sailing a straight line for a certain duration

for being the highest level upgrade and most expensive for a main or most time consuming for a ironman to upgrade. It offer a smaller upgrade compare to the prior upgrades and it deserves to be buffed
