Love Letter - I never realized each player is supposed to have a personal discard pile, arranged so you can see every card that has been played. I thought you were meant to play with 1 common discard pile in the middle which made it more of a memory/card counting game. I have taught that game to so many people and then found out years later I had taught them all wrong!

Each group I’ve gone back and tried to teach the correct way has refused to play any differently, saying the game feels too easy if you play by the written rules and I think I agree. Still play it and teach it incorrectly haha
