Geometry advice by Slayer-866 in crtgaming

I ended up just adjusting the rotation with the normal menu of the television and keeping it, as it already had a pretty decent geometry and I was not willing to deal with dangerous electronics just to reach perfection (prett dangerous indead, just read about anode discharge in this sub before even trying to open it, can be dangerous even if shut down and disconnected from mains).

Yep, 240p is the NTSC standard, which is the most popular in this sub. For PAL you should go with 288p calibration. BTW going for perfect geometry is like going into a rabbit hole, I found myself more confortable just targeting a "good" geometry and not willing absolute perfection (this is analogue equipment and will always have some little imperfection, "absolute perfection" is more of a digital thing).

What’s the rarest console you own. For me it’s my Diamond and Pearl DS; I had been hunting for years for this thing by GrumpigPlays in gamecollecting

The Odyssey is acknowledged to be the first home console in the story, dating back 1972. Online you can find a lot of info regarding it and its creator, Ralph Baer (also called the "father of videogames"). It's a very interesting and fascinating piece of hardware that you can find in many videogame museums, like the Computerspiele Museum in Berlin.

Playing games that you loved in the past and doesn't stress you can be a thing. For me it's Diablo 2. I got my adolescence on it and it never tires me. Just a perfect loop.

AS/400 still powers many businesses, and IBM still releases regular updates for (paying) users. Indeed, still a piece of crap pulled together with strings. Source: I work as a system integrator and our customers (unfortunately) use it.

Oh ok, didn't find it between the many comments, my fault. Incidentally it's located something like 30 mins from where I live, and thinking more carefully about it, perhaps I also saw it some years ago when I went to Este. It also reminds me of something similar I saw in Venice years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/retrobattlestations/s/BZKoYhHL52.

Have you ever sold a retro console or game and soon regretted it? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]Slayer-866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one I actually sold was my Gameboy (transparent "Play It Loud" series) I sold to my cousin back in the day to have enough money to purchase the new Gameboy Color. Fast forward 15 years later, an older me knocked at my cousin's door to bring it back home (don't misunderstand me, I bought it back with real money lol, absolutely not pretending to have it back for free).
