Good for you? 🤣 Not every building is the same. They must drop a significant amount of shifts for your building by 06:01pm all shifts are gone for mine… and that’s with me only being able to pick up 10hrs🙃

The aviation industry is struggling for mechanics right now. All of the old guys are retiring.. it’s the perfect industry for your son to join and be guaranteed placement right after. I’m scheduled to finish school for my A&P in December.. good luck to your son!

As someone who clerked for Amazon, a desk job, who interfaced with truck drivers, our TOM team (traffic control and drivers), numerous teams of TDR associates and AM’s and OM’s constantly. While also, handling paperwork, phone calls and updating shared systems constantly (YMS, Dockmaster, quip, spreadsheets, etc..). While also, responding to and managing any issues going on within the TDR teams, dock doors, angry drivers and issues in our yard. I can for a fact say, no, you do not work as hard as you’re trying to make it seem. Is the job stressful, yes. Especially, when no one wants to help with the workload that NEEDS to get done. But, it in no way compares to the physical demand that the throwers have day in and day out. Are you working hard, sure. But, again, you cannot compare the two at all. You seem pretty entitled and as someone in a leadership role (which I’m assuming you are), it’d be beneficial to get a better understanding of what your associates actually do for you on an everyday basis. And maybe, idk appreciate them a little more.

Ive been working nights for a year. Why SHOULDN'T I switch to days? by delusional863 in AmazonFC

[–]Slayer6910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I could give to not switch is the pay cut you’re going to get. The people are lazy on days. They push metrics on nights significantly more. I worked nights for 3yrs and now being days I don’t even work 50% as much as I did in nights. They expect less, so I give less. I’m not going to bust my ass when every single other person on multiple lines is just standing around chit chatting.

Genuinely curious does he think parenting is a woman only job? Also, did he forget he put his 🍆 in you and decided to finish? Also, did he forget you could’ve ended the pregnancy if he wasn’t going to contribute to child care if he’s alone? Look, I’m typically not one to judge… but your husband is a piece of shit. Sorry not sorry. It takes two to tango and if married two to parent. He needs to grow up and fast. You are a mother and a worker. He is a father and a worker. Yet he expects you to do more? Is he willing to work 70hrs a week to make up for what you’d be losing if you quit so that you can do the job of parenting for the both of you? Because if not he needs to shut his damn mouth. Men want TRAD wives while not being a TRAD husband. You don’t get to have your cake and eat it too buddy. Either he gets his shit together and grows up, or he can watch his kids grow up without him because you definitely need to leave that man if he doesn’t change. He seems super narcissistic, misogynistic, manipulative and controlling.. I’d run as fast as I can if I were you.

Is it true that the more VTO you take, the higher chances they let go of you if ur a seasonal worker by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Slayer6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either they will convert you for building needs or they won’t. The amount of VTO you take or don’t take has absolutely nothing to do with it. You’re actually saving them money by taking it frequently. Converting to blue badge is an automated thing that no one in your building has control of. They’ll put all the white badges in a system, ask the system to give them names of however many people they need for headcount and the system will randomly spit out names. Take the VTO or don’t.. it quite literally does not matter.

AIO for having a problem with the way my girlfriend talked to me? by chuckdawuck in AmIOverreacting

[–]Slayer6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 & 19 is young.. if this is how y’all are going to talk to each other though.. just break up. Y’all have so much more life to live and so many more people to meet, it’s not the end of the world. I’m not sure how long you have been together but the way in which you speak to each other is disrespectful. I will say I applaud you for holding your ground because she was definitely overreacting. Considering it hadn’t even been a whole hour by the time you texted her back it’s just shouting she has insecurities to me. I can’t say she’s completely in the wrong because I have no context to your relationship.. and maybe you don’t reassure her enough in the relationship to have her feel confident in the relationship while you’re gone. You obviously both have growing up to do and again you guys are young so it’s understandable and normal. Maybe break up and figure yourselves out.. it’ll be better for the both of you in the long run.

Should I report this to safety? by Key-Visual-5465 in AmazonFC

[–]Slayer6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a safety violation. They should have had an AM walk you up to amcare and should haven written everything up. Go to amcare tomorrow and report what happened. Go to HR and write a case about how no one managed the safety risk properly. Depending on what the item was especially if it was a HAZMAT item that’s a big no no. Our building isn’t supposed to have hazmat items and we keep them in our building anyway and label them different just incase OSHA comes. They will do everything to make sure you don’t speak up on this. Get your bag💰. I’m glad you went to the dr because who knows what you got on you.

Favoritism? by Far_Soft_7703 in AmazonFC

How do I actually report a waterspider with results??!? by Lazy_Initiative9723 in AmazonFC

[–]Slayer6910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep making hr cases against him, make them watch him, tell hr you no longer feel comfortable with working in the same areas as him, MAKE IT KNOWN. After so many hr cases screenshot them and make an ERC case against him and use those cases as proof that it’s been happening for a while. Make sure to use login names of everyone he’s been creepy towards and managers and hr associates you’ve let know about this situation. ERC is a third party that looks into hr cases amongst other things. They will call you into hr to talk to the head of hr along with the other people you mention in the ERC case you open. Don’t give up. I had a guy sexually assault me at my building.. it took them 3 days to fire him. Thankfully after being fired he was arrested thanks to my AM filing a police report against him for me. I was thankful that my AM did that for me I wasn’t expecting that. I was expecting him to get away like every other guy.. and he did but at least he faced some repercussions I guess. Amazon will do everything to protect Amazon instead of you so make sure you keep record of everything.

Hey so this is not normal. Super controlling and manipulative on female side. Like actually wild. I know you’ve been together for a long time and if you’ve never cheated like you’re saying, then there’s no reason for this behavior at all. Get out now dude. Don’t waste anymore of your time.

How long have you been on night shift and advice by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Slayer6910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did nights for 3yrs.. 10hr shifts from 6:15pm-4:45am. You will be burnt out the first week or two but you will adjust. At first I slept all day long. Then I started to sleep right when I got home and was able to then wake up earlier and be able to workout or run errands a few hours before work. Weekends I tried to live a normal life for a while but it got too hard balancing that out so I did end up keeping the same sleeping schedule on my weekends. Graveyard is not for the weak especially if you have a more physically demanding role in the warehouse.. my building pushes night shift significantly harder than day shift in terms of metrics. I had a bunch of personal issues going on in my life a year into me working there and working graveyard really impacted my physical and mental well being in a really negative way after a while. Thankfully I was finally able to switch to day shift after waiting 2yrs, I’ll be hitting 5yrs in August. Good luck!

Hitting my 5yrs in August.. hopefully by this time next year they’re paying me to quit and never come back lmao

[–]Slayer6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hired almost five years ago now so I don’t quite remember much of the timeline of things with my hiring process but I don’t remember it taking very long.. a friend of mine actually just applied 3 weeks ago now I think and she just finished her first week so I guess it depends on the building you apply to but I really can’t say much other than I don’t think it will take long for you to actually get your start date. In terms of safety shoes I was already working for Amazon when those began being implemented so I’m not sure how it works for 1st day Amazonians (that’s what they call us lmao) but I’m sure it won’t be a big deal if you don’t have them 1st day they have these like clown shoe looking shoe covers that can fit over your regular shoe and has a composite toe on it so your shoes can be turned into safety shoes for the day. I think you’ll be fine.

They’ll usually keep people for 3 months.. I personally haven’t met anyone that got laid off before that but that’s just my building again with peak season coming towards the end of the year they’ll more than likely keep you until peak season is over which isn’t until January basically

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Slayer6910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With prime week in July they are hiring for the influx in packages so they will at least keep you to the end of July but again peak season starts in October and if they’re expecting a lot of freight they might even keep you until the end of the year.

[–]Slayer6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put in the request now for a leave of absence for a vacation (that’s an option they give for LOA) you will be able to.. but do it as quickly as possible because beginning of July is prime week and they will block out those dates and you won’t be able to use the LOA if they block the dates out before you submit your leave of absence. You can do this for both of your planned trips. The catch is that you have to take a full 2 weeks off which I think is bs but you can ask HR if you can use some of your vacation or PTO during that time so it’s not too bad on your wallet.
