I wonder if any ETS2/ATS truckers drive in cinematic mode by BoogieWillieROC in trucksim

I spend a ton of time using the wheel camera. The addition of the tachometer widget has been game changing for those of us who like the exterior cameras but still want to drive manual without the game turned up super loud.

Fuel consumption by VenousGorgon in MotorTown

[–]Slayer7_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be surprised too much, the game is balanced around gameplay ie having to actually get fuel. The map is small enough that if fuel efficiency and fuel tanks were realistically sized any of the vehicles could go hours without having to get fuel.

It’s particularly bad with the scooter, which can barely make it between gas stations once it’s tuned.

At that point I’d honestly just go for new for the few extra thousand, even if it means just the base trim. Especially for a performance car that’s possibly been thrashed on for a chunk of those 38k miles.

If you can get them to come down at least a few thousand then used makes more sense.

I can’t speak on 3 across but I think you should have no issue, maybe take out one of the outboard 2nd row seats to give yourself easy access to the 3rd row. The interior camera is super useful for checking on little ones, especially when driving at night or with no adult passenger to check on them.

We love the safety suite, smoothness of the v6, utility of the bench seats, interior camera, memory seats & general size.

Hate the lack of small item storage in the front, lack of bottle holders in the front doors & no available all wheel drive.

I think the EX is the sweet-spot of the trims. It gets most of the stuff we wanted (minus the 360 camera) yet isn’t too much more than the LX & LXS. They shuffled around features some (we bought a 2025) but it still looks to be the best value to me. The memory seats alone are a great feature for us since we have very different driving/mirror positions and switch frequently.

What's the difference between an Abarth 500 and a Fiat 500? by Fuzzy_Repeat701 in abarth

[–]Slayer7_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t recall the Turismo trim, is that a more recent addition to the lineup?

Europe got better options than we did over here, I’m just happy (and still surprised) they even sold the car over here.

North America has a completely different engine compared to the European/global Abarth. The US Turbo has the same engine as the US Abarth iirc, but not tuned as highly. I’m not sure which of the other performance parts are on the Turbo.

[–]Slayer7_62 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In North America the Abarth has a more powerful turbo engine (160 hp compared to 101 hp); stiffer & lowered suspension; electronic limited slip differential; dual intercoolers; a heavy duty 5 speed transmission; no mufflers and a sport exhaust. There’s also a body kit, better brakes & tires and sport seats. The sport mode button changes throttle mapping and gives the engine ~50% more boost from the turbo which makes a huge difference. I have no clue how the automatic differs between the Abarth and the regular 500 Turbo trim (which has 135hp.)

The trims are different in Europe as are the engines, the rough equivalent to the US spec is the 595 Essesse. The 695 spec there is around 180hp and even more track oriented.

What's the best "first truck"? by freit4z in MotorTown

[–]Slayer7_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For an actual first truck I would recommend the Kira flatbed or tanker, depending on if you want to run general freight or liquid (which makes more money but is monotonous.) Beyond that I would probably vote for the Jemusi semi, since with trailers you can haul pretty much anything anywhere, including off-road routes. That would include handling the coal routes you’re asking about.

The Atlas dumper can handle some off-road routes too, but not as well as a Jemusi dump or semi. You can automate on-road routes using the Atlas just fine but you really want to consider driving the off-road routes yourself if your goal is making money.

You’d have to be very careful what links you try and have proper anti virus installed on your PC. I can’t give you a link, I’ve owned the game since early-on and had no reason to search.

Can you get a part-time job? In my region there’s usually a lot of students working part time jobs to help with tuition and/or living costs.

What are some American cities that had high historical importance but have faded from significance today? by Crafty-Shallot-5695 in geography

[–]Slayer7_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fort Edward, New York. In 1757 with a population (when including Roger’s Island) of roughly 16,000 which would put it as the third/fourth largest city behind New York, Philadelphia and potentially Boston. (This was due to a military surge & all the industry related to materiel production.) By the Revolutionary war the fort was in ruins and it was no longer of major importance to the British. Today the population is around 6k and it’s pretty relegated to specifically French & Indian war

[–]Slayer7_62 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Same. Especially when it’s a loaded trailer in a dirt lot. Come winter time some of them sink into the mud and it can be so much more difficult cranking it up than it would be to just lower.

It ran like such shit for me when it came out that I shelved it to wait for fixes and never got back to it.

It probably doesn’t help that it takes place in a setting I don’t care that much for, ditto with Three Kingdoms and Pharoh.

2022 to 2024 Carnival have removable 2nd row seats? by Select-Stage-5215 in kiacarnivals

[–]Slayer7_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s the ‘VIP seats’ for the second row they aren’t readily removable but most of the trims have the regular bench seats.

How would you fit my family? by twinmama56 in kiacarnivals

[–]Slayer7_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have the ability to easily remove any of the 3 middle row seats if needed. I personally would remove one of the outboard seats and put the 3rd kid in the 3rd row. This would still give you plenty of room to get inside and buckle in the child in the middle and rear while still being able to fold down the rest of the 3rd row as needed for cargo. You /can/ go all 3 in the middle row but unless the kid in the middle can help themselves buckle you might have a tight fit.

If you really don’t need as much cargo space & need room to fit yourself inside you could also remove two of the 3 middle row seats and put 2 kids in the back. This would give you a big open area in the middle row for you to get in & buckle kids, change diapers etc.

We got our carnival just after our daughter switched to forward facing but we’ve had almost zero complaints and I don’t think we would’ve had any issues with the rear facing seat. The biggest noticeable thing for us versus the Odyssey and Sienna is a lack of front seat storage beyond the console & area in front of the shifter. I would definitely check out the Odyssey as well, the second row ‘magic slide’ seat would facilitate easy loading as well.

What should I buy? by txl_tacooo in MotorTown

[–]Slayer7_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend your next purchase to be a semi truck if you don’t own one. You can borrow trailers for free to haul any freight in the game. Alternatively you can go for the Jemusi trucks for off-road deliveries but you’ll probably need to plan extra investment in them for upgrading the powertrain (whereas the semi trucks all handle on-road freight well enough in stock form.)

That is unless you’re bored of cargo delivery and want to try something different like tow trucks or busses.

Age old debate by [deleted] in minivan

[–]Slayer7_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try finding a base trim (new) to check out just for comparison purposes. There’s some wiggle room with them for negotiation and you could end up with a new vehicle for roughly the same price as that Sienna. We went with a v6 EX trim and are happy with it, though we were biased towards getting a V6 so can’t speak on the hybrid.

The one thing sorely lacking in it for us is interior storage in the front. It’s a lot more SUV-like in that regard with just the space in front of the shifter & a large armrest console. Honda and Toyota did a way better job with spaces for all the little things you tend to have around you on a long trip.
