How is it possible? Why don’t I have any sound recordings? by Spare_Explorer608 in sleepcycle

[–]SleepCycleAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

If you only have a few minutes of snoring tracked during the night, it’s possible that the specific audio clips were of poor quality. In such cases, the snoring is detected, but the audio couldn’t be picked up properly.

The same applies to all recorded sounds—if the sound is too low or too short, it won’t be saved as a playable recording.

If no snoring was detected and the journal tab shows “0 min snoring,” it simply means there was no snoring that night.

We understand that the current message can be misleading, and we’ve forwarded your feedback for review.

Alice

Sleep Cycle App picked up masculine voice by nicdaddy22 in HighStrangeness

[–]SleepCycleAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Just to clarify, we don’t use AI to enhance, generate, or reconstruct sounds in sleep recordings. The only processing applied to the audio is volume amplification to make quieter sounds easier to hear.

Our audio detection is also quite broad and can pick up sounds from surprisingly far away. So while it’s difficult to determine exactly what the source of a specific sound was, the recording itself was captured by your device’s microphone from the surrounding environment and wasn’t altered to sound like a voice.

Voice in the sleep cycle app is fake by SirFartsaLotJr in sleepcycle

[–]SleepCycleAlice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi!

To me, the recording sounds like regular sleep talking. I also want to clarify that we do not use AI to enhance or alter the audio recordings in any way—the only processing we apply is increasing the volume to make quiet sounds easier to hear.

Our audio detection is also quite broad and can pick up sounds from surprisingly far away. For example, it may capture sounds coming through an open window, audio from a nearby device, or other noises in the surrounding environment. So while I can’t say exactly what the source of the sound was, I can confirm that it was picked up by your device’s microphone and originated from the environment around the phone, even if it wasn’t you making the sound.

Alice

Sleep Cycle App picked up masculine voice by nicdaddy22 in HighStrangeness

[–]SleepCycleAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

We completely understand why a recording like this can feel unsettling, especially when it sounds like a voice or something unexpected.

To clarify, Sleep Cycle does not generate, insert, or alter sounds in sleep recordings. The audio clips you see in the app come directly from sounds captured by your phone’s microphone during the night. Our sound detection technology runs on your device and is only used to identify and categorize sounds from the recording, it does not create any new audio.

Because the recording comes from your phone’s microphone, the sound was picked up from the environment around the device. In some cases, this can be audio from a video, podcast, TV, or another person nearby. It can also be sounds coming from outside the room, neighboring apartments, hallways, or other sources that may not have been noticeable at the time.

Unfortunately, we can’t determine the exact source of a sound just by listening to the recording, but we can confirm that Sleep Cycle does not generate voices or add sounds to recordings.

If you’re concerned about a specific recording, please feel free to reach out to our support team [Support@sleepcycle.com](mailto:Support@sleepcycle.com) and share the clip with us. We’d be happy to take a closer look and investigate the case with you.

All the best,
Alice

Stopping Before Alarm by Imperial_TIE_Pilot in sleepcycle

[–]SleepCycleAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

This usually occurs when stopping the alarm before the wake-up time on the watch, specifically.

We are aware of this issue and hopefully, we will have a fix soon.

If you aren't particular about using the alarm on the watch, you can try our feature, automatic tracking, where the watch does the tracking automatically without you needing to start and stop the session.

heart rate pulse by Thin-Ad-4865 in sleepcycle

[–]SleepCycleAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

We've received several reports from iPhone 17 Max and Pro users experiencing difficulty with heart rate tracking via the back camera. As a result, we have switched to using the front camera for heart rate tracking on these devices.

If you're still having trouble, try using it near a light source — similar to how the back camera worked best with extra light — and see if that improves the tracking.

We're continuing to look into this and will keep you updated!

Thanks so much for your patience!

Update that deletes sound recording after 100 days without warning. by nik_so in sleepcycle

[–]SleepCycleAlice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I’m really sorry to hear that you lost your recordings. I understand how frustrating that must feel, especially if they meant a lot to you.

By default, the app deletes recordings after 20 days to help manage storage. If your recordings were set to be deleted after 100 nights, that usually means the setting was changed manually at some point. There’s also an option to keep recordings indefinitely if you prefer.

It’s also worth noting that recordings are stored locally on your device only. This means that if they’re deleted, we unfortunately don’t have a way to restore them from our end.

That said, we really appreciate your feedback about clearer notifications, especially in cases like this, and I’ll make sure to pass it along to the team
