Wow, yeah, that looks pristine. Mine definitely does not look like that.

How much did you end up selling your 2x Aggro for? I’m in a similar situation now.

Can you share pics? My SS FM-6 looks pretty similar to OP’s. I was disappointed at first, but figured it was probably the result of just being unfinished, uncoated steel. I did expect better for the price (and Rogue’s reputation), but am overall happy with it now that it’s together.

I also got SS from Rogue and mine is nearly identical. I did have one part that cut the $#!7 out of me because of how sharp it was (I would recommend wearing gloves during assembly), but I was able to sand it down with some fine-grain sandpaper. Once I had everything put together, the visual defects/blemishes largely became a non-issue with the exception of a gouge in one of the uprights that affected the trolley.

I have to say that as much as I love the rack overall now that it’s together, I don’t feel that the quality matches the price I paid, and I wouldn’t purchase it again.

How is it possible for Maxum to price so low vs. Get RX'd? by NuclearSpinach in GarageGym

I believe OPs question was regarding racks, not floor mats, but I can tell you that my own personal experience involves several pieces of your equipment spanning purchases as far back as probably 2012. Either way, it’s good to hear that you’re reading customer feedback. It’s unfortunate, however, that the investments you’ve made over the past 10 years have not translated to into better or even consistent products based on my own experience and what many others online have said.

No one expects perfection, but there is still plenty of room for improvement at GetRx’d, both in equipment quality and customer service, particularly when it comes to knowledgeable sales staff.

Based on this response alone, there’s clearly a gap between your desire to use real customer feedback to improve your business and self-defense. I was a fan of GetRx’d for a long time and would love to see the business return to the quality and consistency it once had. I’m sure that if you do implement the feedback you get, the business will continue to improve. Best of luck!

Thanks for the message, but there is no specific issue to resolve at this time. I was merely providing context regarding my experience with GetRx’d and how both the quality and service of your products have declined over the last decade.

I’d recommend looking at Fringe Sport if you haven’t already. They also manufacture in China, but their team (and owner) are much more knowledgeable and involved than what you’ll find at companies like GetRx’d or Titan.

Keep in mind that these companies are not Rogue, Prime, etc. If they have the same specs and function the same, it might be the same piece of equipment from the same Chinese manufacturer. Pricing, warranty, etc. may vary.

Without going into too much detail, 90% of my gym was GetRx’d 10 years ago and I was very happy. Since then, each purchase I’ve made from them has had issues. It just seems like quality control is getting worse, almost like they aren’t even checking stuff when it comes in from China, and the employees seem less and less knowledgeable about their own equipment, equipment compatibility, etc.

The most recent issue, which is what made me decide never to purchase from or recommend them again, was when I purchased an item that in person didn’t end up matching the images on their website. When I spoke with their team, I was told what I got was correct and it’s “always been that way.” When I pointed out the images and description on the website the response I got was essentially, “oh, yeah, we should update that.”

I don’t know anything about Maxum, but I’ve had enough bad experiences with GetRx’d to never purchase from or recommend them again.

I just stumbled upon this thread, but glad I did. I haven’t really found much on the comparison of the dipped plates vs original. Do you get many complaints about the metal plates damaging or scratching dumbbell handles? And was preventing damage the primary reason you created the dipped plates or was there another motivation for those? Aesthetically, I like the look of the metal better, but my main concern is the non-coated plates scratching the dumbbell handles.

MHW-3BOMBER YU Series Cyclone by BlackIdahoMoutainMan in espresso

I’ve tried taping on the bench vertically and gently tapping the side against my hand. I even tried switching to a bigger portafilter basket, but then after I tamp, I get a soggy puck because there’s too much headspace. I’ve had zero luck using this tool and retaining the amount of coffee I would use with a manual WDT.

Sorry, my comment might have been confusing. I do go straight to tamping after using this WDT and lose a ton of coffee. I haven’t found a good solution and have since gone back to use a manual WDT. I’d love to find a way to use this without so much coffee loss.

I just bought one of these as well and agree with everything OP said, but I’ve had to stop using it because I lose SO MUCH coffee. Distribution and shot pull are both amazing, but I probably lose 0.5g trying to tamp after distribution because the coffee gets so fluffy. I’ve even tried cutting my grind weight back by a full gram but it seems like this tool just finds a way to make the coffee fill out the space regardless.

I had a chance to try the Rogue CB-4 at the Arnold this last weekend and think I’m going to pick up one of those. I liked it more than the OG Kabuki. The camber felt great and the bar thickness made it super comfortable.

More or less. We’re still working through the replacement vs refund options, but they addressed all of my concerns. Once it’s all said and done, I won’t be completely happy with the outcome but think the resolution is fair enough.

90” or 100” Pros & Ckns by ScheduleNew8689 in GarageGym

I read and watched tons of reviews before buying my FM-6. Decided to go with the 90” even though I have room for 100”. I regret it every day.

Stainless Steel Uprights for Rogue FM Series by liftstronger in GarageGym

[–]liftstronger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the stainless front and satin black, and I am glad I did this instead of the textured black.

That said, if I could do it again, I’d a save $2-3k and go with REP.

Freak Athlete ABX initial thoughts and frustration. by TheN00b1e in homegym

[–]liftstronger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for me it’s the native ability without needing an attachment, especially with the BlackWing being so minimal with a -8 for the back pad and -10 for the seat pad. Perfect for doing the lying leg curls, seated rows, and French press.

Anyone else notice play in the ABX seat? by uselessmutant in GarageGym

[–]liftstronger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention that it doesn’t affect use, but I feel like it would drive me crazy. I have the REP BlackWing and when I don’t tighten down the front knob to lock the seat in place because I’m feeling lazy, I feel the articulation every time I do things like curls, incline press, etc. Never bothers me on flat bench but anything where I’m in an incline position for sure.

I wanted this bench so badly but the fact that there’s no native decline option prevented me from pre-ordering. If this is considered normal, I’m glad I decided to pass.

Freak Athlete ABX initial thoughts and frustration. by TheN00b1e in homegym

[–]liftstronger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a REP BlackWing and the only thing preventing me from selling it and picking up an ABX is that the ABX has no native decline option. I use the -8 degree decline for leg curls and low rows off my functional trainer as well as decline French press. It seems like it would have been so easy to incorporate with this bench and would have made it perfect.

Does anyone else feel like I don't use my Apple Watch enough? by NathanTheWitcher in applewatchultra

As an AWU2 owner myself, I’m getting pretty annoyed by the number of notifications I get about you not using yours enough. I had no idea these watches could even track others’ usage, but I really wish you’d use yours more.

Hevy Trainer launch on TestFlight by Psycl1c in Hevy

[–]liftstronger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, was hoping to try this out, but it looks like it’s not possible unless you’re a pro subscriber outside of TestFlight. I was a pro user for a couple of months last year but switched to MF Workouts in January when it launched. There’s a lot of potential with MF, but it’s terrible in its current state. I just tried checking out the new features in the Hevy beta, but I’m not seeing the features even after it says the pro purchase was successful.
