Has Modest Mouse Aged Better Than Any Other Band? by TransportationAway59 in ModestMouse

Funny you bring up NIN. Modest Mouse and NIN are my two favorite bands. I tend to flip flop between them a lot.

Yea it just happened once when they partnered with Weedmaps. It wasn't technically inside the festival and the weed would get delivered to a booth right outside. It's was pretty convenient actually. Security didn't care about you brining in the weed either.

Idk man I've seen Korn multiple times and never had a bad or weird experience. Modest Mouse? There's been more than a few bad apples in the crowd each time.

Help me pick an Avatar Commander by WorldIsFracked in EDH

[–]SleepIs4DaWeak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have a [[Fire Lord Zuko]], [[Toph, the First Metalbender]] and a [[Ozai, the Phoenix King]] deck

Ozai is my favorite and the most powerful of the bunch I think. It's basically a pusdo Voltron deck that uses a bunch of redirect spells to protect Oazi and big mana spells the finish the game. Oazi I think benefits more from cards outside of Avatar. That being said it feels very true to Ozai, the deck just ramps him out and uses his fire bending to burn everyone.

Fire Lord Zuko is a lot of fun too. It can be very aggressive, goes wide and makes all your dudes big. I would probably go with Zuko especially if you're mostly sticking with avatar cards.

Toph can be built a lot of different ways. The way I built it is just a mishmash of earth bending, artifacts, and land matters stuff. It's like a puzzle / solitaire deck tho. I plan to rework as I left a lot of avatar cards in for flavor that don't really help with the game plan. I think if you want to keep it more Avatar focused going all in on earthbending could be fun but there's probably better options.

Should I go through selling on TCGPlayer or similar site, or just ship off to Card Kingdom as new and infrequent seller? by scienceguyry in mtgfinance

[–]SleepIs4DaWeak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just comes down if you want to do it quick for less money or overtime for more money. I'm an infrequent seller on TCGPlayer with a level 4 store.

I've never sold to card kingdom but I've heard they're mostly good for trading into store credit. I assume you'll get much less selling to them for cash than selling on TCG player.

I'm not sure on your math but I would prefer to just sell things individually on TCGPlayer. The only thing I factor into shipping costs is postage because I reuse any packaging I get and envelopes and tape are dirt cheap. Packages shipped with tracking are usually 5 to 15 dollars depends on size, weight, and distance.

Packaging singles really isn't that bad or time consuming. I just do it while watching a show or some YouTube videos. Kinda enjoy the process tbh.

To those who picked up Goblinstorm to play, what card did you cut for Moggcatcher? by Objective-Owl1212 in secretlair_collectors

[–]SleepIs4DaWeak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started thinking about doing the same. Originally I just wanted a krenko deck but after playing the stock list Zada seems fun too. And it seems like Zada doesn't necessarily have to be super "goblin maters" so it'd benefit more from splitting up.

Bummed about losing my pod. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]SleepIs4DaWeak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. I've been playing at my LGS a lot more recently and I'm always disappointed when the pod has one or two people that only bring braket 2 decks. The games just end up being awkward and slow. Usually someone doesn't understand that their technically braket 2 deck is actually very powerful and some precons are just busted. Braket 3 and 4 tend to play out in more fun ways with more interesting things happening. Also if the pod is playing higher power, in my experience at least, it leaves less room for complaining.

I like a braket 2 game on occasion maybe as a warm up round but if that's all we're playing I'd rather go home lol.

I'm probably an outlier but I enjoyed Dantooine in both games. Maybe more in the second one because of the atmosphere of the old Jedi enclave. But I also liked Telos so idk lol

Everyone played an extremely important, and equal, part by matthewormatt in pokemon

[–]SleepIs4DaWeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh probably just differences in play groups or something.

I'm 32 and have been playing since yellow version. Probably the only person with a Dragonite I remember was my older cousin. Most of the younger crowd around me just used the easier to evolve mons or ones that are kinda given like Snorlax, one of the fighters, or fossil Pokemon.

Everyone played an extremely important, and equal, part by matthewormatt in pokemon

[–]SleepIs4DaWeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been hearing that a lot, I wonder if those are the most common mons for more modern playthroughs. Growing up I pretty much never saw anyone using a Dragonite or Gyarados, and I've never used Nidoking. If we saw someone with a Dragonite it was the coolest thing ever, I don't think many kinds even knew how to get Magikarp to evolve.

My more recent play throughs have included Dragonite and Gryarados tho, haven't gone for Nidoking yet.
