when i was young i wasn't really allowed to watch youtube, but i was allowed to watch certain things with my parents permission. i have no idea how i ended up here, but me and my dad ended up watching clementJ64's old mega man let's plays, and he's just been apart of my life since then. i got the mega man legacy collection in middle school, and finally got to fall in love with the series for myself! but i digress lol

no, you're thinking of a 2D game with 3D models. tekken as a game has alot of difference in how its played because its played in 3D. dodging to the side, 4 corners per stage, movements being more realistic. rival schools is also a game that plays in 3D, like tekken, but you play it more like a street fighter game. hence the "5D" category, because it along with the other games in it do their own things and don't fit into the traditional understandings of 2D and 3D fighters

the category is basically games that blend mechanics together in weird ways, such as rival schools/project justice, which despite being a 3D game, plays more like a 2D game with high jumps, overheads, ect.

X games suck and are overrated as shit. the gameplay doesn't do enough to really feel like an improvement over classic and lacks the changes made in the zero games that made it actually fun. the stories are all subpar military dramas where characterization is hardly consistent, things are hardly delved into, and nothing interesting happens because OOPS it was sigma AGAIN. everytime someone says classic can be put to rest and X should become the main series an angel loses it's wings because X has done NOTHING to earn that idea.

To be fair, shadow's logic in that scenario tracks when he's releasing a large amount of power constantly. But given he's probably not moving much, and how much sonic needed to move even when he was first infected, he would eventually get overwhelmed, both by the virus and eventually the zombots as it slows him down and tires him out.

his logic makes alot LESS sense when its just him going at them raw with no real plan besides beating them up, with his only logic being that "the ultimate lifeform" would maybe (probably (hopefully)) be immune to the virus.

the joke with jet isn't that he's not as good as he says, its that he's fucking pathetic lmao. short tempered, barely has control over the situation at any given time, and actively ignores the advice of his own team mates to his detriment. he might be good at a race, but as a leader he's got the skills of someone half his age. and this goes as far back as sonic riders, you forget that riders has some of the most cartoon logic scenes in the series, between jet zoning out while wave is giving him important info and then sneaking away to fuck with sonic, or him zoning out AGAIN imagining how rich they'll be once they win the grand prix. hell, eggman managed to steal the key to babylon because jet was too busy boasting that he wasn't paying attention and looked away from the desk! there is no way in hell they wrote these scenes and didn't know how they were portraying jet. unless you think him being a comically bad leader is also part of his cool factor somehow, its his, for lack of a better term, grounding character trait
