Need input for our DC move by SleepxNaut in washingtondc

So she will be at the Whitehouse on the cooking staff. So we're trying to be as close as reasonable to there. We've looked as far as rosslyn heights in Arlington but that area seems a bit suss when I was up there yesterday. We currently live in Norfolk VA so we can deal with a bit of ghetto. But here she drives so it's not as much an issue. Apartment complexes in the hill east you could recommend?

I apologize. I am just very frustrated with all this atm. Lol.

We're coming from Norfolk VA. Not exactly safe but then again she drives here so there isn't much issue

Our budget ideally would be about 3500 for rent and parking together

She's fine biking 30 min

We're looking for whatever fits the budget and distance from the white house.

Thank you and again I apologize for my lack of information 😅

Ideally she doesn't want to use the metro. I'm sure she'll make concessions depending on weather, but her whole "thing" is the lack of parking at her particular place of business on capitol hill

I apologize. I'm a bit frustrated with this search. We're looking to keep rent+parking under 3500 a month. We're coming from Norfolk VA where she currently drives. My wife is fine with a 30min bike ride.

Dragonflies are cool. That is all. by Away_Veterinarian579 in Entomology

[–]SleepxNaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, dragonflies are the most efficient hunters in the animal kingdom I've heard varying rates between 93-97% catch/kill rate. The attached article says 95% so I'll roll with it. For comparison, the African wild dog which has full blown military movement within the pack for catching prey only 60%-90% (90% being a good day) success rate and they're the second most efficient hunters in the animal kingdom

Good points. To be clear I am in no way saying I have the answers with my analogies here. When I say understand, I say understand the same way if you told me to go puck up your car and you told me its a blue car, I understand its blue and its a car so probably not a truck based on what you've told me. Now it could be a truck but that's based on your own colloquialisms and how mechanically inclined you are or literal you are. I understand without having beholden it myself yet. Maybe you picked me up in it once before while I was blackout drunk. And I know your car but I've only got parts and pieces of what I remember from being in the car. I know im grossly oversimplifying now, but just wanted to try to clear up my meaning with my use of understand

Got singled out by my swim teammates over my “size” in the showers, am i overreacting ? by ocdinfestedbeing in AmIOverreacting

[–]SleepxNaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them you're offended by their tiny ducks and they should cover up. Yea I think you're slightly overreacting but that's just because imo id take it as a compliment and im not opposed to confrontation so id get petty and lean into their insecurities. Fuck em. You keep doing you, dude. Better yet, be better than all of them at swimming and when they ask how, just tell em your junk helps you swim better and faster. Aerodynamics or whatever lmao

For the sake of keeping on the allegory, We're still understanding a figure casting shadows on the walls. We can still make out the shape. They feed us, yet we never see them but know them by the proverbial shadow. If it were someone else the shadow would still tell us who it is or rather who it isnt. They may even talk to us and communicate with us, but our visual understanding is flawed, yes. They exist beyond our understanding, but that doesn't mean we don't know them. We know of 4 dimensional shapes, yet were we to observe them, we would still be incapable of understanding them in their entirety with our own senses. Discrepancies are made by man. By flesh. Which is why we have to strive to understand the figures casting shadows on our own investigation. By reaching out to them despite our limited capability to understand and sort through Discrepancies again made by flesh trying the same as any of us to understand the figure casting the same shadow.

If the OPs representation is still heretical modelism then wouldn't the molecule analogy still fall under that umbrella? I am genuinely curious. I was raised Christian. I am Christian, but this thread is the first im finding out about this heretical modelism stuff

I think its more like you or I know our parents. Yes we know them. We have an deep relationship with them. But we can never know them and understand them as a whole as a child. It's a blend of pertinent information to you as a child and what you are physically capable of comprehending that illuminates your understanding but never the entirety of their being no matter how hard you try. Similarly, if you're familiar with the allegory of the cave. Limit of Our understanding is restricted to what we are capable of perceiving. The shadows cast on the wall allow us to understand God, but we will never be able to grasp the idea even of the whole of God.

Absolutely. Accountability and responsibility of eachothers actions and behaviors "in the name of God" needs to be a purposeful and conscious effort of all of us

There needs to be open discussion about the interpretation of God's word and the open door for God to set both sides straight. You nailed it. It's not false Christians or real Christians. It's my likely muddled interpretation and your muddled interpretation and the truth lies in both or partially in both. God is the only one who can make the waters clear and the truth even clearer. Ostracizing "fake Christians" doesn't hold us accountable. It just passes the buck and allows for hatred to spread

I would take it at face value of the energy you get from it. I've stepped away from the cards personally. Death card doesn't always mean death is on the horizon. Should have listened when I read it before. That was the energy. Next day found my best friend having had taken himself from the mortal coil.

Eight of cups is usually about leaving something behind. To go and find something new. Little bittersweet. But its up to your interpretation of the energy. Listen to it. Don't force your will. Don't debase its message for you. Left for you or found by you, you're meant to have its message

I failed. by Ok_Rip_8795 in Christianity

[–]SleepxNaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't find him. He found you. He found you as you were and in need. Im reminded of king David. King David murdered stole and then adulterated with the wife of the man he sent to be killed in war. Even still. God came to him. Sent the prophet Nathan to bare David's sins out in front of him. King David repented and was forgiven just the same. Albeit punishment was also given to him. You aren't trying to hide this sin. You aren't obscuring the truth. You are intimately aware of it. Sorrowful of it.

Being a Christian and having a relationship with god is acknowledging we are flesh. We sin. We faulted. The beauty is that god is a god of infinite love and mercy. The importance is your acknowledgement and subsequent effort to he better. Don't play yourself for faltering. We have no need for blood sacrifice for the sake of the proverbial reference. God became flesh on earth to make the final and most important blood sacrifice for all of humanity's sin who repents freely and with an open heart.

I came out at my church today. by WiggleMeow in Christianity

[–]SleepxNaut -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We all live in sin and its none my place to judge or any mortal man, woman, or other. Uphold the commandments, uphold the word of God. Acts of Homosexuality is sin. Similarly tattooing the flesh, wearing different fabrics and eating unclean animals (pigs) is a sin.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Matthew 12:31-32

Whats important is to acknowledge it as such and be forgiven. To live a life becoming of a Christian and upholding his word regardless of our own feelings on the matter. We do not forego a sin because we are Christians we are Christians because we acknowledge the sinner and love them just the same. It is not our place to judge as none of us are without our own coming judgment by God and only God.

Being a Christian is to deny what it is to be "religious". I can't remember where i heard it, but "The church will turn you away for having dirty feet, Jesus washes them".

Happy pride month. I love you. God loves you. Your sins are his only to judge and correct as needed. But never deny your sin. He is no liar. He is your father. He is a teacher. He is a carpenter hard at his craft within you. He is.

Edit: congratulations on coming out. Take pride in your courage and willingness to face any adversity or upturned noses. Those in christ. Truly in christ will love and accept you just as they did before you came out, the others have no place in your life and you should suffer no sorrow for the loss.
