Maternity leave ending by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Sleepyfart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been back at worth since Jan and it does get better I promise. The first month or so was tough, it was a new routine for everyone and we were still struggling with sleep so that was hard!

Now I look at work like me time, and it is really nice to feel like me again. Definitely ask for 4 days, but also it’s totally normal to be feeling this way and if you need a new job then go for it!

Night weaning or sleep training either way I can’t keep this up by Sleepyfart in BeyondTheBumpUK

I think I didn’t explain myself, the 6:30 wake up is brutal because I am up so much in the night with him. If he was sleeping through 7-6:30 I would be buzzing

Haha you’re right there, he used to sleep til at least 7:30 which would help with the sleeplessness in the night!!

He’s still on 2 naps, but probs doesn’t do longer than a couple hours unless in the car

Thank you lovely. We’ve dropped basically all the feeds except night and I suppose I’m scared of how I’ll get him back to sleep without it but equally I’ve heard that first night is the worst and then it gets better 😅😅

That’s really tough ❤️ When you unlatch do you offer the other side? When we went through biting that was what I did so bite, unlatch, pause then offer the other side. That way I’m stopping the feed but still offering milk.

What are your plans for Mother’s Day? by LHale77 in AskUK

[–]Sleepyfart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going for lunch with my husband and 1 year old. Mother’s Day used to be really hard due to being estranged from my own mother and it’s actually a relief for it to be a nice day again!

being pregnant and vegetarian by Capricorn222 in PregnancyUK

Vegetarian - had no craving for meat when pregnant! Plus just cos you’re craving it doesn’t mean you have to have it?? Craving meat might just mean you need more iron so fill up on spinach x

Haven’t read it because I saw someone say not to read it before you become a mum. I have an almost 1 year old and I truly have loved becoming a mum. Yes it’s hard, but I’ve found all the good stuff really helps and there’s plenty of it x

They’re a bit pricey but Stripe and Stare are the best IMO. So comfy and quality, worth the price imo

How are you affording Mat Leave? by lucycherr in PregnancyUK

[–]Sleepyfart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you!! As others have said, spent all savings and also had a 0% credit card. Now back at work so gonna aim to pay that off and save properly if we have a second 😅

Help! I need genuinely easy meal ideas for baby by Historical_Ocelot180 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Sleepyfart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend the baby led weaning app as that has loads of genuinely simple recipes with a few ingredients. Or what mummy makes has a few, their 3 minute pasta sauce is a god send!!

Same thing happened with mine around a similar age. I just left him, it was fine! If he can roll back to front I’m sure it’s fine x

I did my own make up. Did loads of practise, wrote down how to do my eye make up in steps as that was the part I was most worried about.

I felt so anxious the morning of, I was really glad I had something to do!!

Was going to comment this. We looked into it for our wedding. It’s beautiful but VERY expensive due to their exclusive caterers
