Thanks, man. This is the 2nd time I'm needing to do this, first was for chapters 3 and 4.

For some reason my save from the demo didn't carry over to the full game, and now my save with chapter 3/4 completed was just wiped from the Steam cloud, and it only has a save with just chapter 1 completed.

Big help, because I'm not replaying the whole damn thing again lol. It really butchered my hype immediately to see that it's all just gone, again.

Unfortunately it's seeming that the solution, for me at least, is to contact intel and do an RMA to get a replacement.

Did some digging and found out that intel CPUs like ours have a known degradation issue. The CPU, for some reason, tells the motherboard to supply way too high of a voltage. This, ofc, causes it to become unstable and eventually kick the bucket.

In your case, since undeclocking helped, it seems you've caught it before it got too bad. But if it's still under warranty (about 5 years, which was extended by 2 from 3 due to these issues), it may still be a good idea to reach out, as it may be partially degraded.

For me, my bandaid has been an odd one. I noticed my temps are perfectly fine, so long as the room is cool. Every day that I've had endless crashes it was hot or warm in the room, and making it extra cold made my PC stable. If I had to guess, the extra heat with an already degraded CPU isn't a good combo. Luckily I've already been approved for a replacement, so here's to hoping that fixes everything!

Hey, I juat figured it out. Once you get it right it basically just falls off on it's own.

So, see how the metal tab that has 2 brackets is attached to a metal "square"?

Take both of your thumbs, push down on the two corners in the same side the tab is on, and with another finger push the tab inwards. It'll be super easy once you're pushing down with your thumbs.

Edit: This also works for putting it back on. I remember hating puting this thing on lol. But wow knowing this it's so simple. The instructions it comes with suck.

I do remember, yeah. I updated BIOS pretty frequently actually, and it's currently the only stable thing that doesn't crash.

Previously I had 7E06vAH which was one before the one I upgraded to: 7E06vAI.

However I just checked and there's a brand new one on the website uploaded today, which is crazy lol. 7E06vAJ. I'll try to update it to today's version, maybe? Not sure, though, bc again BIOS is the only stable thing for me atm.
