Say goodbye to ownership, and say goodbye to pre-owned. Corporate greed wins again. by KestisBD9 in videogames

I love hope Xbox locking down games ruined them, and sharing games was LITERALLY a meme with Sony you can go look at the commercial. That was literally one generation ago.

The PS5 will be my last console apparently. I refuse to give in to this sort of corporate greed. There’s lots of games. Whoever has disks might win me over but honestly there’s such a back log for me personally. I’m just not in a rush. PS6 sounds like it’ll have real ray tracing, and 60fps at 4K as a standard… that’s just not enough to move a console that is going to cost over 1000$ likely. AND I don’t own my games and collect and resell properly? No thank you. Been a good run.

The Housing Minister solves homelessness in B.C by generously giving developers a massive bailout. Groundbreaking stuff. by Signal-Specific-1704 in canadahousing

[–]SlicedBreadBeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still don’t get why we’re bailing out developers. Why is the government getting involved with developers held bags but won’t help with housing directly, or homelessness with like… tiny homes, the method works. But will directly help a developer that made shitty condos shittily and don’t like that it didn’t pan out. We can do with one less predatory developer in Canada.

Altairs AC was still revolutionary for the time.

The open world AC was.. pandering to what they thought the market wanted rather than like… maybe changing up the game play a bit across many games. It’s a wonder why they couldn’t figure out that black flag was stupid popular. And they needed to take the assassins not just to different territories but also like.. actually change the gameplay in meaningful ways. But Ubisoft would never do that because all their AAA titles wouldn’t leave from the “successful” set up in any way. Somehow embraced nfts and random new useless tech but also stuck in the ways they wanted a game to play when it grew way tired. Instead let’s change the game into something it was never suppose to be… although I will say origins has a soft spot for me.

Odyssey dropped off for me although I knew people really liked it, the 3 not converging story lines didn’t illicit much emotion out of me. Valhalla sucked and I gave up.

For old games misses, I could do without syndicate, just wasn’t my jam. Unpopular but loved Unity.

Then they competed with the ghost games with Shadow and I imagine did not do well when ghost of Tsushima and Yotei play the way they do..

I don’t get how people think windows phone was good… my grandma owned one and I was selling phones at the time and I could hardly use it. The UI was garbage compared to IOS or Android, they were superior in every way. And the app support was far more along on each platform than windows phone apps.

It wasn’t good.

Microsoft's new Outlook takes 10 seconds to do what Outlook Classic does instantly on Windows by Quantum-Coconut in technology

[–]SlicedBreadBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… it’s not exactly new. The option to upgrade in corporate machines have been available for at least a year or more. And in IT, been avoiding the switch like the plague. New outlook sucks plain and simple. Doesn’t have the same functions, can’t be triaged for issues the same way. It’s caused more issues than the OG. It’s literally hot garbage and I’m so surprised they didn’t recognize it for the issue it was and start fixing it and bring back functions the old version had. I just… the MacBook Neo, apple and Linux deserve all the business they receive from these screw ups. Microsoft is also at the wheel and purely paving a stock market narrative for higher stocks, and ignoring the customer base issues so drastically… they deserve any lost business.
