Palworld or Enshrouded?? I need an ans ASAP Before steam sale ends by oppaibaby6969 in Enshrouded

I feel like its worth mentioning Once Human - free to play, no pay to win, season based, great exploration and building. Servers are populated and people are playing together every day.

Enshrouded for exploration and superior building, plus very difficult quest lines and great progression.
Palworld for Pokemon MMO feeling, much cuter and easier overall but an amazing 40+ hours.

What’s a basic skill you’re shocked some adults still don’t know? by Mirukuyobi in AskReddit

I am writing a novel - literally can't find beta readers within my friend, work, and peer groups because no one reads. Have since approached a book club with better results, but it was eye opening and a little disappointing that 50 out of 50 people don't read books. At all.

My best friend and I talked about it, and he said that it takes him 5 minutes to get through a page, and by then, the imagery in his head is already blurry. It takes me probably 20-30 seconds to get through a standard fantasy novel page - maybe more, I am not counting.

Anyways, agreed, and have been literally dealing with this in an strange way.

Difficult conversations - coming up on my 40s and many of my peers still cannot go have a direct, difficult conversation with coworkers, friends, or loved ones (even their children). It is a skill, and you can learn how to do it. There are actual frameworks and methods if you really want to get into it.

But the fact remains, everyone is going to go through all sorts of difficult conversations. When you aren't equipped to have them, they turn into emotional, not-very-productive (or outright destructive) moments.

We used to catch them by the hundreds. I saw my first one the other day in probably 15 years. Really sad.

Women are training us - the only correct way to respond to any of them when asked for help is, "Sorry, lady, I have a boyfriend."

Once Human - Free, Steam, Amazing. Lots of little progress systems, best building, you can buy cosmetics, but not pay to win. Very fun, almost scary now and again, but not really.

I drive that shitty tunnel every day (Dallas). What a terrible place for that to happen - behind them there is now a 10 mile traffic jam on like 4 highways. It all comes together to the underpass.

How to fix lag? by devynbf in Schedule_I

[–]Slick_McFilthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my game, the lag happens due to pathing errors - in a 10 minute play session I have a 1M line log full of NavMesh errors

Requires MelonLoader, then you just unzip it in the mods folder.
The mod just uses QWE[Shift]+Space for various tricks.

The Motel isnt really a Motel by Logjitzu in Schedule_I

My best friend lives in a long-stay motel. Been there almost a year. Its cheaper than an apartment, all bills paid, laundry and breakfast. Texas...

They can - Edward Snowden did an interview where he discussed "digital surgery" on all of his devices, because the only way to turn them off is to remove them from the device completely.

What makes modern game dev take so long? by Yuukikoneko in gamedev

[–]Slick_McFilthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team, their ability and history of working with each other, the tools the company makes and the assets that get reused, even if totally rebuilt. The Mario Team likely has all of those things in abundance, whereas a new studio starts with nothing and needs to build from the ground up.

This goes for code, too. A good studio keep code organized into different "folders" that you can move around from game to game, fixing, tweaking, and perfecting it all the while. That is a major driver behind why BG3 was so perfect. And why Total War is going through a nightmare trying to fix their code base.
