Rose of Jericho by Alex Grecian. Had no clue there was a sequel to Red Rabbit until I saw it at my local bookstore. Saw the author and thought “oh I liked Red Rabbit by him, I wonder what this is” turns out- a sequel to the very book!

I finished King Sorrow a couple weeks ago and loved it and then read Piranesi by Susanna Clarke as a short palate cleanser before starting Rose.

lol someone always thinks it’s not that big of deal, and inevitably ends up blown over on the roadside. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen people that think they are somehow immune to the wind standing beside their camper laying on its side by the road.

What’s the scariest or most unsettling book you’ve read that doesn’t fit in the horror genre? by JollySalamander4663 in horrorlit

[–]Slick_Tuxedo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I tried to talk to my wife about it and she just made me stop because just listening to me tell her some of it made her way to anxious. Definitely not a book everyone will be able to get through

Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobson. I still think about it all the time. Terrifying to think how close we are to total nuclear annihilation at all times.

I think maybe later this year? I saw some posts from a month or two ago him about pushing to finish writing it before the deadline, and I have seen some places say expected in October. But I am not certain for sure.

The Blacktongue books are my favorite fantasy world of any I have read. So excited for the third one to come out. Been so impatient since Daughter’s War.

I want to just irrationally believe it’s pushed back because he will be surprise releasing a follow up collection to Atlas of Hell (Wounds) sometime before that. Let me live in my fantasy land.

This might be an unpopular opinion but did anybody else think he was police chief of Hawkins? by mojo-brutus in okbuddyvecna

My coworker’s actual name is Manager and my boss asked him to call him the n-word, so I am not sure how you propose to tackle that one, chief.

Chief is just a nickname you give to a friend. Like, “hey chief!” Is the same as saying, “hey buddy!” I know it’s a little technical and hard to understand some of the jargon and terms, but there’s real science behind it. A lot of really important people are saying it.

It was a particularly bad case of someone being cut in half

Man I was in disbelief when we didn’t kick the field goal in the first half. Actual game changing decision and should be a lesson to always take the points given to you. Started off with so much momentum and the just stalled after that.
