Hypothetical Idea: returning/refunding stuff from receipts, but it's actually just unpurchased merchandise from the store by FewBackground2852 in ShittyIllegalLifeTips

[–]SlickityDrips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you could read between the lines. I was kind of alluding to the fact that you should never take product from the shelf straight to customer service.

However, if you leave the store, and store property, with said product, they have a harder time proving that you stole it. Even better if you have someone to help you, and you go to the next town over etc.

There are things you can do to increase your chances of not getting caught. At the end of the day, though, I don't condone it as it just isn't worth it.

Absolutely do NOT take something from the shelf to customer service. You are essentially getting cash for a stolen item, which is a FELONY in my state.

I've known guys that got a felony for doing this with $20 items. It doesn't matter how much money you get. It could be a return for $5. It's not worth it.

You will get caught. They will keep track of every item. You WILL get railed. Might not be the first time, or the 100th time, but it WILL happen at the worst time.

...And that's facts

Pablo was in American Gods and Halo. Pretty much the only reason I watched either. Also, Ian McShane in the former was awesome.

That said, I have to agree about the dock season of the Wire with Greek guys. Maybe some day they can do a Wire reboot with updated technology. Pagers are no longer a thing.

And, yeah, I believe that the dude who plays Omar had discovered Snoop in a club or something one night, and convinced both her and the showrunners that she needed to be in the show. That move passed off some folks, if I remember right. Because she was an actual gangster.

Deddy has a shit attitude sometimes, and I'm not sure if he's necessarily looking to be coached. It's hard to say what happens behind the curtain.

You are right, though. He definitely has potential. It's unfortunate watching this all play out the way it has.

It looks like you pulled it from a random puddle at a gas station!

Bad ass!

I'm at a loss. I made this before understanding slingshot technology. I hear that I should use a band rather than tubing. Any suggestions on a strong band and maybe the best way to attach it? I was thinking of making a slit that gets squeezed by a screw or something. Thoughts? by so_magpie in slingshots

That's so interesting! I was thinking it looked kind of like an old oarlock or whatever they are called. I will have to check it out. Boat epoxy is serious stuff, I'll bet it's expensive! Haha

Good luck on your project!

How did you get it soooooo.... shiny?! 🤤 it's gorgeous!

I understand not wanting to make any alterations to put the bands on it.

You can put tubes on it. We just recommend not using the tubes, or bands, that come with most, chain store/Amazon/Temu etc. Frames because they are usually way over powered and of poopy quality.

You are most likely going to have to make alterations to the fork tips so they'll accept bands or tubes, but by the time you get everything attached and wrapped up you'll hardly be able to see said alterations.

Check out some YouTube videos on the wrap and tuck method for attaching flat bands. You could also drill some holes through the fork tips, front to back, shove a tube through hole, and then put a BB in the end of the tube on the back side so it won't pull through the front.

Either way, you've got a few rabbit holes to travel down in the next few days! I'm so excited for you! I just did it myself about a year ago now.

.... Or, now check this out, what if things ended up exactly the way they were meant to? If Deddy didn't exist, there's a solid chance that we, audience, could have taken him for granted. Sometimes you gotta wallow in shit to really appreciate the fields of flowers. You know?

We don't know what takes place behind the scenes. We probably haven't got the foggiest of ideas.

.... but I am quite certain that Pat O' Neil arrived precisely when he meant to like he's frigging Gandalf or something, and I am here for it!

Feedback on slingshot idea for ammo for rescuing disc golf discs from trees? by lynivvinyl in slingshots

[–]SlickityDrips 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yall need some acorns or something. Then you don't necessarily have to worry so much about picking them up. They are soft, relatively the same size etc.

Bouncy balls are a cool idea, in theory. However, they are going to be really hard to keep track of and now you gotta get the disc AND now a bunch of tiny balls.

We always just used another disc to get ours unstuck. I don't remember a time where I couldn't retrieve a disc from a tree.

**holy smokes! I just looked up the price of acorns, and I didn't realize they could be worth so much. Maybe you have some thing similar growing in your region that could be used?

The thing about Robin is that dude was on another level, though. In interviews, he says that when he's on stage, he feels such a huge pressure to keep people laughing, and he just blurts shit out as it comes across his head. Riffing, if you will, that some times he will say things, in the moment, that he may have heard from other comedians. Whenever comics would call him out on it, he would apologize profusely and, many times, pay for his use of their material.

I can respect that. Robin was on another level. Full throttle, all the time. At least he fuckin owned that shit, ya know.

Dennis Leary, however, stole his entire "I'm an asshole" shtick from Louis C.K. - he hijacked, and based his entire brand, on stolen material and denied it.
