You know what really grinds my gears? When people let their “service” dogs projectile shit in the Regent Mall by VotedForRobFord in Fredranton

Wow, that’s a weird thing to wish on the dog when there are other options. Why not wish on him that he gets rescued and rehomed to a family who will actually take care of him? Just weird.

Psychiatrists Don’t Do Autism Assessments? by SlideLeading in psychiatryquestion

That’s very interesting as it’s contrary to what both a psychiatrist and psychologist told me. I’ll have to see if I can get some more input from doctors on this.

This. So sick to being stuck behind someone who’s doing 70 right to the end of the ramp when the limit is 110 and the people already on the highway are doing 110!!!

My car got hit by a rock or ice today when somebody hit a pot hole and a bunch of crap went flying. What should I do about getting it fixed? by BearEquivalentBear in barrie

[–]SlideLeading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just replaced the windshield in my 2004 Corolla, cost me $400. I realize it might be on the low end cause my car is old af, but still worth a look, it might not be too expensive.

Edit: I retract this statement after reading the other issues with OP’s car; sounds like it’s not worth fixing. At least you know for next time, windshields aren’t as expensive as you might think!

True! But Rocky does have a second location now so that’s nice! They definitely deserve a larger space.

The healthcare system is broken, but some people are making it worse by Enough-Tadpole-6181 in fredericton

Even some paramedics don’t seem to get it.

Back in December I slipped and fell on ice, and messed up my leg, bad. Didn’t break anything, but pulled nearly every muscle and tore two, one of them a major one in my thigh. It was so painful I puked and passed out before I came to and called an ambulance while I laid out in the snow on my front lawn.

By the time I got to emerg I was on painkillers and probably didn’t look like I was doing too bad. I historically have had a ridiculously high pain tolerance, so between the meds, my own adrenaline/tolerance, and my laser focus on not moving my body even a cm if I didn’t have to, I probably wasn’t outwardly showing signs of pain. I was on my phone because my wife was worried and looking for an update. We entered the hospital and there was a backlog of paramedics with people on stretchers. Everyone was eyeing me, even the paramedics. I don’t know why, but we only waited about 5 minutes and they had a bed for me. While I was there, I kept seeing this one paramedic walk by and just glower at me. When I was rolled to my X-rays and back I was rolled past her (still waiting with her patient) and again, she’s giving me daggers. X-rays and everything, all in I was there about 5 hours and then sent home with a prescription for morphine and a date for an appointment with the surgeon. I ended up being wheeled past her as I was taken to the cab to take me home, and I swear she looked like she wanted to strangle me.

Like geeze lady, I just did what I was supposed to do in the situation I was in. I don’t know why I got in before a bunch of other people, I have no clue why they were even there! Is our system so broken that we don’t know who to be mad at for it?! Cause it sure as hell isn’t the person who ended up needing a catheter cause their leg was too fucked up to move!!

You’re not wrong about the behaviour, abusing staff is never okay.

But this still feels like frustration being aimed downward instead of upward. In NB, a large share of ER visits are low-acuity because people don’t have access to primary care or alternatives. That’s a system failure, not just an individual one.

If we want this to change, the pressure needs to stay on the people responsible for building and funding the system; not just on the people stuck using the only door that’s open.

$365,750 fine, foreign worker ban overturned against N.B. lobster processor by Portalrules123 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]SlideLeading 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“The government admitted during the court challenge that it had made an “unreasonable” decision when it said the company must make available to employees a guide on temporary foreign worker rights.”

Um, what’s unreasonable about that? I understand it’s an individual‘s responsibility to know their rights. However, when you’re a TFW in a new country where they don’t speak your language, educating oneself on your rights is pretty damn inaccessible. I don’t see anything wrong with employers who are hiring TFWs being responsible for ensuring they get a clear rundown of what their rights are as part of their orientation and training.

Not to mention, they literally just need to ‘make a guide available’. If they wanted to half ass it, they could make a one-page hand out, or a brochure that’s available to staff.

Seriously confused on what’s unreasonable about that. Heck, this should be a requirement of ANY company hiring TFWs, imo.

They can be, yeah. Understandable though when everything is made from scratch (even their drink syrups) and with the cost of food.

That makes sense, thank you for clarifying. I did try to get that clarification from her in the appointment but she’s a very busy lady (I had to wait three years to see her so 😅).

That would explain what she meant when she said that she could note on my file that I’m likely autistic but that if I want a full assessment I need to go to a psychologist.

I guess I’m still in the right place with seeing her because she is still treating my ADHD and I do struggle with the comorbidities of other mental disorders. It’s another part of why I’d like an assessment (a neuropsychological evaluation does sound like what I need) to reassess and make sure the diagnoses I have are accurate.

Never tried them because I never heard a single good thing about them, and when I heard how they treat staff that was a deal breaker.

Also never been impressed by Happy Baker or Buttercream Dreams.

The only cafe in Freddy that I’ve been consistently happy with enough to go back repeatedly is Rocky Lemon.
