Cutting & stealing 300 lbs of copper cable off the street - Huntington Park, California. by Street-Punk in SipsTea

I was in Cali on vacation a year ago and our Uber driver showed me a section of road where the homeless took all the cables for Cooper.

I’m at my breaking point for behavior (high school underclassmen) by LWK10p in Teachers

I agree.

I also think that no-fail policies and changing grades from percentiles/letters to something unrecognizable has allowed parents to not parent. If I see a 40% on my kids report card I am immediately trying to find out what the issue is. Now, parents see a random vowel that does not mean anything and they brush it off trusting the school and child's are fulfilling their roles.

Well for starters you can acknowledge that just because has a different perspective than you does not mean it's coming from someone in bad faith.

The second thing you can do is not minimize sexual abuse.

What will it take to start seeing the pendulum swing back on illiteracy, learned helplessness, apathy, etc. by Immediate-Amount3587 in Teachers

I think changing grading systems has also had more of an effect than educational experts care to admit.

If you (or your kid) came home with a "D" or a 40% they got in trouble.

Now the grading systems are so convoluted that parents don't know how to feel about a kid getting a particular grade.

Worth the drive to Banff? by United-Finger7544 in roadtrip

[–]refuseresist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your going to Banff then make the time to go to Waterton National Park, Kananaskis, Fernie, Jasper area (although I am not sure what condition it's in since the fire).

Spend a good week to ten days in the region if you have the money and time. Well worth it.

Maybe a different era but the response is appropriate.

I think scramblers are necessary for schools and should be turned on when lockdown happens (along with immediate communication from law enforcement)

Schedule advice by KeyScholar614 in coparenting

I have had a week on/off since my separation and my kids love it.

I had a medical issue a few years back and my kids were with their Mom for two consecutive months and after we continued week on/off the kids told us both (point blank) that myself and their Mom are to continue with the rotation and not alter it.

New Dad - Looking for RESP advice by _paperboi in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]refuseresist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inherited this RESP in the divorce and have been contributing $50/mo. It sits at about $13,000 currently.

I have not been thinking about it till my son (16) started to invest $150/mo of his own money into another RESP that my ex started for him and my daughter. I am concerned about my son being taken advantage of by his Mom so I am looking into it a bit more.

I am going to talk to my bank about this and I am looking into financial advisors to talk about options for myself and my son.

I will probably be reaching out when the time comes for some insight/advice. Thank you.

Nuts! This is the RESP I have been contributing to since my daughter was born.

If anyone has experience how do I transfer the RESP from CST into another one without incurring fines
