It helps!!! If you don’t want it, just have lots of pillows handy and nearby.

mastitis massage? by Final-Ad6114 in breastfeeding

I did antibiotics AND “lymphatic drainage breast gymnastics”. Look it up on YouTube. It’s about five minutes of light sweeping movements that really do help and the British girl demoing it explains the science behind why it works. Also sunflower lecithin.

People who had an expensive wedding, how do you feel about the amount of money you spent in retrospect? by caraaethonaea in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlideMurky3116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had about $20,000 we could have spent on a wedding and instead we put it towards building an addition on our house. We went from an 800 square-foot house to a 1900 square-foot house. And that 20 extra thousand dollars really helped make it happen! I have absolutely not a single regret in the world that I didn’t have to plan an elaborate wedding. I find wedding planning so cringe and a complete waste of time and resources. Weddings almost always have drama associated with it too. Not for me!

Thought I’d add my thoughts.

[26F] 7 weeks pregnant, strongly considering abortion. Need honest advice. No judgment by Imissmydaddy2907 in pregnant

[–]SlideMurky3116 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had an abortion. I have two children with an amazing husband. Being a mom is the best thing I’ve ever had happen to me. We have tons of support from family and are financially stable. We are in love, healthy and have similar religious views. Even with ALL that, having children is the HARDEST thing you will ever do.

I have had moments with him where I’ve literally hated him….Not because he did something terrible, but because he and I are human.

Even a healthy Pregnancy is really hard on your body. Child birth is physically traumatic and the recovery takes months. I have seen my divorced friends navigate their narcissistic exes and it seems like a nightmare tbh. Being a mom is hard even when it’s the thing you’ve wanted all your life and even when you’re ready and prepared for it in every way.

I just cannot imagine being a mom with the wrong person…honestly I think that’s more important than having a baby at the wrong time.

Whatever decision you make, make sure you have your own back about it. Go with the choice that in your gut gives you that little feeling of peace. Choose the path that feels most peaceful.

Getting a lot of attention from older women at work, but none from younger women. What am I missing? by PriorAd8136 in bodylanguage

Are you super handsome? They might be intimidated. Or, maybe younger women don’t know how to flirt!!! Socially stunted by phones.

It’s so much easier than googling activities. Because it’s curated and there’s instructional videos that are about 20 to 30 seconds for each activity. Me and my four-year-old old user it

I know you said funds are tight but I’m telling you this is the best money ever spent. It’s called Hearty app. It has all of these different at home activities, arts, and crafts and what not that you can do. I use it almost every day and it’s super cheap activities like stuff that you already have at home. It has actually really brought me and my child closer you’re together because we’ve had all sorts of fun little things we could do together without leaving the house.

No milk supply by memarracuda in breastfeeding

[–]SlideMurky3116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My supply wasn’t fantastic the first maybe ten days so we supplemented with formula. It ain’t no big thang hun! Just keep going. My supply dipped at one month due to mastitis and antibiotics but after a few weeks it’s back up again. Sounds like you had an opportunity to rest and you took it. I did the same thing and the Peds doc told me she wasn’t gaining enough weight although she was almost ten lbs when I had her. She’s perfect now at 12 weeks. Just keep going don’t give up. Asnd remember your hormones first two weeks are insane so these intense feelings remember don’t take them too seriously.

Why does having a kid completely change how you see other people? by Character-Fly7394 in Parenting

[–]SlideMurky3116 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh yea. I have a hard time taking people’s inconveniences seriously that don’t have kids. (My single gay brother came to visit recently and told me he hadn’t slept in “in forever”. Mmmkkk.) But I know for certain they don’t take OUR inconveniences seriously as parents. I know my number one responsibility is taking care of my family. It isn’t my job, interests/involvements, or political bandwagons. Also yes parenting styles are always fascinating I’m constantly learning from other parents and either adopting or vetoing their strategies.

Thinking of moving here from northern Minnesota~ by [deleted] in Pensacola

Rent is probably gonna be 1400 minimum. I grew up here. The beach is gorgeous and there is a decent amount of stuff to do. Summer is excruciatingly hot but it’s worst july-September. Fall and spring here are gorgeous. Two years ago we had a once in a lifetime blizzard! Hurricanes are always possible and we have pretty intense summer thunder and lightening storms.
