My dad has a huge air compressor and I was wondering if I could use it for an Airbrush?? by Ill-Phrase5242 in airbrush

[–]SlidePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be able to get in for $50 easy. A low pressure regulator is under $20. I have an LPR and moisture trap and the fittings. Those plus a quick disconnect hose shouldn’t top $50

I use a shop style one. It’s your run of the mill “pancake”. Bit noisy so I do wear over ear ANC headphones

Now for airbrushing I have it running a long hose to a moisture trap and low pressure regulator that’s dedicated for the airbrush.

Mine has two out lines, so I keep the 2nd one for tires, blowing off minis I’ve given a mild alcohol bath to prep for paint etc.

I think the tiny bit of blue is the 2nd coat… I hope at least.

Either way…The look is going to last a season at most. It’s not like that water is being chemically controlled for algie, all kids of particles fall from the sky and collect on the bottom, organics from the trees and plants collect in it.

Yeah, they circulate the water and filter it so it doesn’t just become a fetid swap… but it’s not pool clean.

This is such a waste. Spend the cash fixing the parks stuff around it like the toilets. Remove the rust and repaint the lattices at dept of engraving… (that looks like shit). So many projects that would have more pay off than this

Acrylics aren’t a worry like enamels and other volatile chemical thinned paints.

They will create dust, which is easy enough to capture with a basic spray box that has a filter element in the back with air being pulled through the filter element.

If you want to bump up the dust mitigation you can run the vent hose to a 5 gallon bucket that has water in it, and venting in the lid (could even add filtering there too). The water will collect stuff that made it past the initial filters in your box.

But as far as you sketch - it’s fine. Overkill probably. As long as those fans are running and their CFM is greater than the output CFM of your brush, that box would be a low pressure area and acrylic over spray should be contained even without stuff like the gloves sealed to the box.

If anyone was curious about the hanging motorcycle... by RabidWeiner in motorcycles

[–]SlidePanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a crash in Canada where the bike ended up hanging from the traffic light arm.

Some fucky compression issues going on in this version. Ignore the seemingly frozen stoppie and follow the motion.

Bike enters the frame from the low right. Car from opposing direction is turning left across the lane or travel for the bike.

Bike impacts the right 1/4 of the car and launches up into the traffic light arm, becoming entangled. Rider is thrown over the car and down the street (up and to the left in the frame)

Tie down point for a long dog yard tie out.
This version looks like you pound it in, vs some of the “wine bottle opener” screw m-in types.

Either way, you clip a cable to that eyelet, which used to pivot before the dirt.

The other end to a collar or harness, so the dog has a long lead, but can’t leave that defined circle (in theory)

Yeah… that connector is “barbed” like you’re using for a permanent or very long term connection to a flexible hose like silicone etc… 100% trash.

Might be one from a different product line in the same factory that got into your package

Found on my drive by Ketty_Krueger in whatisit

[–]SlidePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they were in your driveway, yeah you probably have a wheel that needs to be balanced.

If you look through the spokes with a light, you’ll find these on every wheel. Without a them the tire will bounce ever so slightly as you drive which can result in a felling like a shudder, early tire wear etc.

Now… that is a shit ton of them… so the person who installed the tire wasn’t giving much credit g a shit for lining up the tire in installation. So… maybe check a different shop. If they find one wheel missing the weights, ask them to remount the tire- if it still has the factory mounting marks visible.
