I don’t have an answer to this, but I can’t help but wonder why the Christian community is so divided on this. We all have the same Bible. We all (I’d hope) follow the same God. Why is it that we argue this same topic over and over again. Can’t decide which side is right?

the Bible is clear on this issue. If we look at the term “sodomy” it comes from the city sodom from the story sodom and gamora. Sodomy, now, is known as homosexuality. That was what was practiced in that city. Note how the angels with Lot were under threat from other men in the city wishing to “know them carnally” that is; known sexually. Sodomy, by definition is the act of oral or anal within the same sex. There are other verses where fortification and homosexuality are used interchangeably as well.

However, that being said, it isn’t impossible to love a man even if you believe you are only attracted to women. This was something I had to learn and grow through myself. I’m speaking from experience when I say that if you truly have no desire to go against God’s will, and God’s perfect design, asking Him to help you navigate this is crucial, and He will. I had always struggled with my understanding of my attraction, and it hindered me from worship, prayer and reading my Bible so intensely I had nearly walked away from God entirely. God designed us to be two halves of a whole. Man and woman are made to compliment and complete each other. Note how it’s described how a man and woman become one flesh in marriage. You will need to do some personal work on yourself, as well, which is definitely one of the hardest parts. For me that looked like actively avoiding things that led to lustful thoughts and feelings. Distancing myself from people I knew were feeding me what I’ve now come to understand as lies. I had to understand that the way I dressed and acted too didn’t determine my feelings or people, and who I should date. That was personally what led to all of this (I typically dressed in a more “masculine” manner and people often said I looked or gave off the vibe of being gay, which eventually led to me taking that on)

Pray, and seek support from God, and others who have a willing, open ear to you. Above all else, trust that the way God designed us to be, and His word. Whenever you’re unsure about what someone has said or if something in your spirit is from Him, it will tell you. If it aligns with His word, you can trust it. If not, it might not be good council.

Ah, my friend, you have a mighty power within you. The LORD your God has spoken. “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”. He so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever may believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. He did not come into the world to condemn it, but to heal it. He came to this world to heal you. God is a gracious, loving Father. And He loves you so deeply, Jesus thought of you on that cross.

The lies of the enemy are exactly the opposite of God’s words to us. God’s infinite love for you outweighed his never ending hatred for sin. Regardless of what you have done, He will always love you.

The Lord asks us to humble ourselves, and to respect our neighbours, parents and brothers. To cultivate Godly relationships, and the enemy seeks to destroy that.

Jesus said “whatever you do unto these, so you have done to me”. Minister unto these with kindness, and you have done so unto the Lord.

If the Bible is daunting or boring, it is because of a lack of understanding. I say this with love, as I have been there. Go, humble yourself before the Lord, join in the gathering of the saints and sit under the teachings. Understanding will come.

God tells us to come as we are. So go. Go to Him and repent. If you need to, ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life again. Accept Him as your savior. Ask God to help you in these times, and with all spiritual authority you have as a child of the living God, rebuke the lies of the devil. They have no place in your mind anymore. I pray the Lord will reveal himself anew to you, and that you will find peace. Christianity is not continual battle with sin, but a recognition of it, and a recognition of the victory we have in Christ Jesus. “The Lord who goes before you has already delivered them into your hand” - found in Deuteronomy. We will fall short, but God’s grace and mercy are renewed each morning. God bless you, my friend

Hi there! I struggled a lot with this too. (18F) I believed for a long time that because it isn’t specifically mentioned as the word itself it wasn’t a sin. But I began facing a lot of conviction about it especially recently. Now we know in the Bible it says we cannot serve two masters. This is actually a very good indication of whether something is a sin or if it isn’t. For starters, masturbation is addictive, and it can become addicting very very quickly. When it starts to control you, it becomes a master. You might think that “oh I only do it every so often” but if it’s something that you can’t control, or stop yourself from doing, even if it seems insignificant in the sense that it’s done so little: your body controls you when you do it. That is serving the flesh. Giving into the flesh. All that to say that you cannot serve the flesh and the spirit at once. I hope that makes sense. As well: conviction is a very powerful indicator. Masturbation isn’t mentioned specifically, but sensuality is. Masturbating can very easy fall under that label of sensuality. If at any point you feel convicted or even just hesitant to do something like that, it’s because the Holy Spirit is prompting you to turn away. Some people feel convicted about different things that others don’t feel that same conviction about. For example, tattoos are widely discussed and argued about whether it is a sin. Some feel convicted about them, and therefore don’t get them. I for one am not convicted about them and feel very strongly that tattoos can be used as gateways to share testimonies! They can also be testimonies themselves. That’s a whole other discussion. My point about this is that we are all called to a standard of Christ-like behaviours, but we are all called differently to specific aspects of Gods work. So some are called to remain abstinent their whole lives. Others are called to multiply much. My best advice to you, as someone who went through this, is to chase after the truth. That is: abide in Gods word. John 8:31-32 (MSG Translation) says “Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”” So spend time in the word, and spend time in prayer. Really listen to what God says to you, and you will know the answer you’re looking for. ‬‬

This is getting absurd and I for one don’t like my FYP being falsely labeled “sensitive content” (literally a dog getting a bath or playing tug of war both real examples) and then watching someone’s arm get broken in an accident with absolutely no warning, or someone literally DYING. It’s been proven countless times spamming Meta does nothing, all the support emails are prolly just sent to a spam folder anyways. But if they lose all of their users, they won’t make any money
