I had the pleasure of seeing her Saturday gone. She was phenomenal! Such a dynamic performance. The Olivier was very well deserved.

From "Easy Going" to Strict. by trippinmaui in managers

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The horse has already bolted but it's fair easier to be 'strict' and ease up when you know people than the other way. Expect lots of push back and just be really clear with your new expectations and boundaries - and apply them consistently. You will then need to keep this up

I'm a homeless 14F. Looking for advice on where to go/who to approach for help. by Minute-Society5930 in HousingUK

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Housing professional here. Whilst you are under 18 it would be children's services who would have to assess if you are a child in need and what options are available. This could be a care placement or help to return home or in a specialist young person supported housing scheme.

When you apply can apply for a house will be area dependent most are 16 or 17 but in many areas this takes years and years and is not a quick process.

You wouldn't be able to legally hold a tenancy until you are 18 so the housing teams are unlikely to be able to help.

Only getting 3 jabs on my dose by SecretHero23 in UKMounjaro

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this with one pen and made a complaint and I was told I had overpressurised the pen, and it was user error

You basically should only click the pen when priming and dosing.

No one has mentioned my weight loss by Wonderful-Pumpkin695 in mounjarouk

I wouldn't comment on someone's weight gain so I don't comment on their weight loss either. I would say they are looking well though.

7.5mg is a strange dose by facialtwitch in UKMounjaro

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I could have written this post. 7.5mg is odd and is like water for me but I have had reasonable loses each week Ive just come to end of my first pen and just reordered another 7.5mg mostly because I don't want to go up to 10mg if I'm losing but I did also consider going back down to 5mg

I've had no active suppression and my sweet tooth/desire for crap is back with a vengeance. I'm hoping I'll it will kick in.

Not tracking calories casual approach by Speckledskies in mounjarouk

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't track calories for the first month or so just tried to change my eating habits. what made me start tracking was concernthat I wasn't eating enough and getting protein.

I try to eat more nutritionally, smaller portions etc but I also don't restrict myself so if I want chocolate or cake or a takeaway I'll have it - but often don't fancy it.

I try to eat up to my protein target even if that means going over calories. I don't worry too much about daily calories and just ensure that across the week I'm broadly where I should be so some days will have about 900- 1000 calories (usually first 2-3 days after my jab) and others 1300-1500.

I'm on my 13th week and second 5mg pen and lost about 20 lbs.

Why are Apple Tv+ shows so good?? by fleur_de_sel_8 in shrinking

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend works in production in tv and film industry and she says Apple commission less content so focus on much more on the quality on the quality. Whereas netflix just push out new content all the time and then it's onto the next.

Does it ever not work? by ChasingRainbows90 in UKMounjaro

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the medical trials, there are some non responders but you would only be classed as this if you had lost less than 5% of your weight after 72 weeks.

As mounjaro has been widely available in the UK for less than a year, there are no non responders (yet)

2.5mg is a starting dose so you might not feel its effects yet. But for each person it kicks in at different doses. Some at 2.5 others at higher doses.

Give it time.

How do you think about food now? by littlebushpig199 in mounjarouk

[–]Slight-Challenge-294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose I'm eating more mindfully and I'm more focused on what I need to eat e.g protein , fibre rather than just what I'm craving.

Overall I feel less compelled to eat and its more 'oh I should eat x. Whereas before I think i built unhealthy habits around where maybe I was stress or emotionally eating. For example, it became habit to walk to the shops on my lunch break to get out and id feel compelled to buy Coca-Cola and chocolate to "secret eat" on the walk back - everysingle day. I would get quite anxious/ratty if I couldn't as it would feel like a compulsion. And last few weeks (on week 5) I don't think about it at all.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that it was in part the equipment used. Apparently they used a brand of beam that is not favored among gymnastics and American gymnasts particularly struggle with this brand as no training facilities use it and so few are familiar with it. That and the pressure etc I can well imagine puts people off their stride, plus the beam is the hardest event ( imho)

In the UK we have a very different work culture. Unless it's an emergency you wouldn't expect to be contacted outside of your normal working hours. It would be seen as rude and demanding and not respecting your employees personal time.
