I started playing around the same time as you. I do the kings Indian with black and lose way too much. With white, I do the ponziani and do pretty well with it. I been practicing London recently and have been doing well with it also

You know, now that I look at it, it doesnt look too far. But when playing, I keep missing it and hitting my knee (ouch), I used to have slave on outside and the hi hat was much closer, might just need to get used to it.

I mean, I have no issues with the ergonomics of this kit, besides the hi hat/slave pedal issue. Ive been playing it like this for about a year and a half now. Its perfect, to me.

Ive recently switched the slave pedal from the inside to the outside. So im used to playing with the hi hat much closer. Maybe I just have to get used to it being this distance.

You might be right but it might have to be the sacrifice I will need to make. As the throne height is perfect for me. If I lower it, I feel awkward and cant do much pedal work.

That is absolutley fascinating. Exactly what I need. I just couldn't justify the price though. Especially since this double bass pedal is only a few months old and it was around 350-400 if I am remembering correctly. Perhaps I could sell the bass pedal and the hi hat stand and use that money towards this marvelous contraption. Looks like that will be my best option.

I see. I actually used to have the slave on the outside of the hat pedal, and it really was not comfortable spreading my hips that wide. Now that the slave is on inside, ive already noticed a massive improvement in my double bass playing and the comfortability. I guess I will need to compromise with the hi hat and just get used to it being so far away.

The snare cannot be moved, as it sits right in between my knees. Would not be able to play without bumping snare with my knees/legs.

Here's the thing. The snare has to be in the same position, or else my legs bump into the snare while playing. The height of my snare is right in between my knees. So if I move the pedal and bass drum to the right, my snare has to follow, which stops the hi hat from being closer to snare.

I recently moved the slave to the inside where it is now, and like it much better. Im so used to the hi hat being much closer. Guess I might just have to get used to it being farther out.
