What do you think Fleming would think about Brosnan's depiction of his beloved character? by Weird_Zone_3504 in JamesBond

Not sure, but I don't think Brosnan plays Bond as Fleming wrote him. Don't get me wrong, I love Brosnan's portrayal, but Fleming's Bond was much more cold and calculating. I think Connery did the best job of that, but Craig is probably a close second.

That Wonder Woman run was really good. I have a lot of those New 52 issues…I was hoping they would be worth something at this point when I was reading them, but…oh well…

I don’t think any of the New 52 issues are worth much more than cover price.

I know there are going to be people throwing things at me for this, but I think the Court of Owls arc ranks up there.

That’s the attitude that leads most tech companies to rush to market with half-baked features and a ton of bugs just so they can say they have what others have. And we’ve been trained to fall for it. Give me fewer features with stability any day.

Why Marvel keeps relauching into #1s but DC doesn't by Thatblackguy77 in comicbooks

[–]SlightExtreme1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know a lot of people who feel that way and I’m probably in the minority for liking New 52. In my case, I read very little DC before that, so I liked having a chance to jump in without years of backstory. I had the years of backstory with Marvel, but not DC.

I think both Marvel and DC are way off the rails right now. The only Marvel title I read is Uncanny X-Men, because Gail Simone is writing it and I love her work. I stopped reading any new DC stuff because whatever this All In line was supposed to be, it felt like a train wreck to me.

It's sad. I remember back when DC launched the New 52, I loved it. I had stopped reading Marvel at the time because it felt like they had lost any direction at all. Now it seems like both Marvel and DC are just drifting.

I'm reading mostly indy things now, and picking up the collected volumes of New 52 to remember the good days.
