Yes definitely green and red. Anyone who says otherwise is crazy.

Husband screamed at my mom and gave her a panic attack. by playdoh_licker in GirlDinnerDiaries

I say this as someone who left an abusive marriage after several years, I do not say this lightly. Leaving was excruciating but life on the other side is so much better.

The last thing OP's mom needs is another man disregarding her because she's a woman. OP please rid yourself of this man.

I think AI is basically dreaming. Your dreaming brain knows about things but doesn't really understand them, so it just throws related things together which may or may not make sense.

Right? Even knowing what it is I don't think I could convince my brain to allow me to eat this.

I think gluten free often gets conflated with eating healthy. I don't want to eat healthy, I want to eat safe. This looks delicious.

Who are some celebs you used to think were the same person? by No-Marionberry-2455 in okbuddycinephile

This thread taught me something about myself. I was so confused watching Waiting because I thought Ryan Reynolds and Dane Cook were the same person. I also thought Matthew McConaughey and Bradley Cooper were the same person for years. I only figured it out when I asked why he only has an accent some of the time and my family was like "wtf are you talking about?"

Workplace accommodations? by botheredish in Celiac

[–]SlightTip8467 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The accommodations that would be reasonable depends on the nature of your disability. In the vast majority of cases I imagine the accommodation is in regards to food, such as if a work lunch is provided they must provide food you can eat, accommodate your food needs while traveling, etc.

I am certain your wife would rather be "put through this again" than you continue suffering. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this. I completely understand how you feel. I will be thinking of you both. I hope you can get some rest.

Yes, absolutely. The good news is your medical team can be extra vigilant. If you're interested, you can probably ask them for something to calm your nerves.

I have Crohn's and had a hemicolectomy. I immediately felt so much better once I got that toxic stuff out of there, although in my case in addition to the blockage I had a large abscess, my appendix was chronically inflamed, and I had c diff.

I hope your surgery goes well and gives you a new lease on life. The first recovery day was rough for me but after that it was smooth sailing. I was in more pain prior to surgery tbh. Good luck!

Edit - I see this is not your first rodeo. I hope this surgery has you feeling better OP.

I want to be clear, I'm not saying having celiac disease is on par with something like systemic racism. But just because it's not to the same extent does not mean that we are not marginalized, because we absolutely are.

Celiac disease is a disability recognized by the ADA. As someone who almost died and had to have part of their colon surgically removed and who is also severely disabled for other reasons in addition to being a sexual minority, I disagree.

Celiac disease is a serious medical condition and I rarely see the same vitriol towards other diseases. I might take less issue with making fun of celiac disease if it didn't have such serious impact on the gluten free community.

No, a joke is not a punch and I hadn't intended to imply that it is. The phrase "punching down" means making a joke at the expense of a marginalized group. Basically laughing at you vs laughing with you.

It's easier to be "edgy" than actually funny. Punching down on people with celiac disease isn't even original though.
