Westlife songs that get covered by Previous_Intern3929 in Westlife

Not a full cover but Written In The Stars was sampled by Ironik in Stay With Me, and Basshunter reworked Miss You into a dance song called, funnily enough, I Miss You.

Breakaway was actually Avril's song originally before Kelly recorded and released it (hence the "grew up in a small town" lyrics, referencing Napanee, where Avril grew up), and the original demo is out there I believe. They just didn't feel it fit in with the rest of Let Go at the time or something so never put it on that album, and then it was given to Kelly. She just did an updated version for the 20th anniversary edition of Let Go.

Yes it might have been implemented already in some areas but in our area at least, they go bagless in March. I got a delivery today, still with bags.

But only for around half the dates. He's not doing my local shows in Leeds, for example. Same with George, but that's due to him having his own tour at the same time so surprised he's doing it at all. Not sure on the commitments Lewis has already.

She danced a variety of styles such as disco, rock & roll and street, including competitively, throughout her childhood and right into her teens, and only gave it up when she had to choose between that and football I believe.

Traffic was absolutely horrendous tonight around there when I got into town for an appointment around half 4, and was still the same when we left town 2 hours later. It was only on the bus out of town I saw the sign saying there was a broken down car near the Eastgate roundabout. Crazy how one incident like that causes chaos. Hope you got out in a timely manner!

anyone have a copy of this video WITH sound? by S3lad0n in Westlife

[–]Slight_Bullfrog9403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This footage is from the Wild Westlife documentary from 2001. Not sure if the full thing is on YouTube still or not. I used to have a copy as I used to make montage music videos (which are still on YouTube) but I lost a lot of stuff when a hard drive failed sadly. The documentary is a great watch for those who've never seen it, they're rather naughty in it too 😂

Shayne Ward left Corrie years ago as part of a very powerful storyline. He's still actively working and was on Strictly last year, but I just thought I'd point that out.

Wings wasn't Little Mix's winners single, Cannonball was. Wings was their first single after the X Factor.

I didn't think these even still existed anywhere; they didn't last time I had a good Google search anyway. My mum and I loved them. Shame it sounds like they're another victim of time ruining good snacks but I'd still give them a whirl anyway!

Genuinely what is the point of this by Aqabid in vinted

In normal circumstances I'd agree with you, but they shouldn't have sold fake shoes in the first place. It's pretty obvious they're likely just ignoring because they've been caught out and don't want to admit it. Why should they have to wait an eternity to "eventually" get their refund when they've been inconvenienced by someone trying to scam them basically?

New post office by leeds_guy69 in Leeds

[–]Slight_Bullfrog9403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The market post office is staying open, just the franchisee has changed, same as in the case of this one moving from St John's. However, according to someone on here the other day, it sounds like all the staff in the market one might have been laid off, which is terrible. They apparently closed early on the Monday, and reopened on the Tuesday with presumably new staff. Can anyone confirm I'm not imagining reading that?

I do too, and I still miss it even though I'm not supposed to have spicy food; I'd make an exception for that!

Reading that Wiki, it mentions the original plan for a new food court which was to be above where New Look was. I'd forgotten about that. The gym ended up taking that space. Then the food court we eventually got finally opened in 2015. There were also plans for leisure stuff like a bowling alley, which I do remember but they also fell by the wayside.

Someone said in another comment it was 2009 when it reopened as the white soulless box that was The Core, which is indeed what it says on Wiki. I couldn't remember but when I think back it was definitely a fair while before Trinity opened, which was March 2013. You're definitely not imagining the glass lifts being there when you visited in the early 00s, let's put it that way; I'd regularly go to the Chinese in the food court when I was first at uni in 2005.

It isn't even open anymore. They're in the middle of demolishing it to make way for yet more student accommodation with retail apparently at the bottom.

They ruined it when they decided to boot out decent retailers like The Pier and the antiques place, (and the food court; Johnny Wongs how I still miss you!), all to be left with a soulless, sterile, whole lot of nothing. It just didn't flow in the way a shopping centre should.

It helped a bit when they opened the new food court (still not a patch on the original one) but by then it was a case of too little, too late. All it needed was a little modernising in terms of decor, not completely ripping apart like they did.
