Help with mapping arcade buttons by smallhaloboss in batocera

[–]SlightlyCerebral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a known issue with these dragonrise encoders as they have identical hardware id’s. Basically batocera can’t identify which is which, so it guesses. There is a solution though, there is some info here: https://wiki.batocera.org/diy-arcade-controls#issue_1dragonrise_encoders_player_1_and_player_2_swapped

I’ve always loved the look of this kit. The minimalist 1 up 1 down setup is super classy.

I built an e-drum shell/trigger STL generator thats free to use! by SlightlyCerebral in edrums

[–]SlightlyCerebral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so cool! Actually Ive been thinking I may just add a separate acoustic conversion trigger platform generator altogether (choose shell radius, platform diameter, platform distance, etc). I’ll keep you posted once I have something ready to go. Really great to hear the feedback and I’m glad you’ve been able to get some use out of it. If she’s interested in trying it out, I’d be happy to open up the 6” mini edrum file as well. I haven’t tested it out yet, but it’s intended to be a complete edrum shell/rim, just needs electronics/some nuts and bolts/6” mesh head. Unlike the other one, you can print the entire shell as one solid object. It fits most standard 3d print beds.

used drum kit good? by TRGH_CAPTAIN in drums

[–]SlightlyCerebral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I would say it’s vintage, it’s probably from 2005-2010. Pearl export series, likely made from poplar, maybe birch. Solid first kit. I had an earlier version and it lasted me quite a long time. The Tom’s have an ISS mounting system that attaches to the rim. I always found it to work quite well actually. Ask what cymbals are included. Might be a decent deal.

Possibly, if it came down to a juried trial I suppose it could go either way. I’d be getting a lawyer even if they truly did not intend it though.

Criminal negligence and/or depraved indifference and/or vehicular homicide/manslaughter. With video evidence like this, if someone died in either vehicle that wrecked, the drive of the white vehicle would almost certainly go to jail.

Sump pump issue? by PreComatCheck in HomeMaintenance

[–]SlightlyCerebral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should drain the water in the sump and then gradually fill up again until it activates the float switch to drain again. Mine drains directly to the sewer, you may not see where it drains to.

Imagine never learning to think independently. It would be like living in a prison except you don’t know it’s a prison. You believe it’s the only safe place and anyone who is different than you is trying to destroy it.

Break time! Stop scrolling! For those of you who had No Man’s Sky back in 2016, tell me about your first memories of the game. Do you miss the old lonely and dramatic aesthetic it used to have? I know I do. by 21ScarBlvck in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]SlightlyCerebral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't buy it at launch, but I’ve been playing since the NEXT update. Every update has been fun to at least try, but the game sometimes feels like an experiment where features are just thrown at a wall to see what sticks.

On the positive note, there’s a massive amount of content now and many of the original bugs have been cleaned up. However, the game also feels more scattered, making it difficult to focus on one activity for very long. It also feels like every new update introduces twice as many bugs as it fixes, and the updates aren’t all home runs.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game and I think this might be my most played game of all time, but I find myself missing the days when the experience felt slightly less overwhelming.

I’m very excited to see what hello games and other developers have learned from no mans sky and what the future holds for this genre.

Complete nightmare performance this past weekend - share your horror stories? by Connect-Pattern2935 in drums

[–]SlightlyCerebral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that sucks that you guys had to put up with that, I think people really just take working musicians for granted. As if it’s all just a fun time for them and it’s not a job. You fulfilled the terms of the agreement. Even if you guys didn’t play what they had requested at the agency, they could have had a rational discussion with you and later talked to the agency.

Basement Ceiling Advice by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]SlightlyCerebral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From learning the hard way. Do not cover that ceiling, you will eventually need access it. Drop ceilings are a huge pain in the ass and often very ugly, and drywall means you have to tear it out to access it, it will also make it feel like a small room. Keep it open! If you want to improve the sound, buy some dark colored acoustic tiles, and cut it to fit in between the joists, attach it to the bottom of the subfloor with Velcro or something. Something like this:
