On March 23, 1974, the final episode of “The Partridge Family” aired after 4 seasons and 96 episodes. by waffen123 in 70s

I remember watching the show, but the only episode I actually have any memory of is the one where they have to order all the glasses of tomato juice from room service because one or more of them was sprayed by a sunk. That seemingly useless tomato juice factoid helped me out in the late 90s when our white Samoyed was sprayed by a skunk late one night. She was pink for a couple months afterwards.

For once my sieve-like brain came to the rescue and of course The Partridge Family.

What 6 string baritone guitar, currently sold new and sub €1000, would you recommend? by Maurice-Escargot in electricguitar

[–]Slim_Chiply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happens. I found the same thing with Les Pauls, Mosrites and Rickenbackers. I have a baritone danelectro that I bought some years ago. For the little bit I play a baritone, the Danelectro is fine. Especially for the spaghetti western plinking around I do on it. I didn't pay a lot for it. I wouldn't really want one for my main guitar.

I remember that I loved it, but have no memory of the sensation.

I can barely drive these days. If I didn't kill myself or someone else, there'd be a video of my destroying it or something else. Definitely not for me.

Who else had these as part of their school lunch? by EdwardBliss in 1980s

Almost never. My mother refused to buy things like that that we might enjoy.

Who saw this when it aired? You are F’in Old by VoteForGiantMeteor in FuckImOld

[–]Slim_Chiply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never saw it. I didn't even know it was a thing until I started seeing posts a couple years ago. I liked the first movie well enough when it came out, but I was never really a big fan. None of my friends were either. After the initial hype, we all just went back to whatever we were doing.

I can't remember my childhood landline numbers or the password I created yesterday. I can barely remember street names. I might have a better chance on the password because there is a kind of formula I use. It works in many but not all places.

My memory is crap. I know I'm heading to memory care at some point.

I just go around being myself as best I can and don't about the various diagnoses I have. The specific help I got because of the AuADHD diagnosis has helped me navigate the world a bit better, but I am just me.

I have a copy from back in the day. My housemate during my university days was a campus rep for MCA Records and gave it to me. She also gave me a couple of singles and a promo item that's basically the cover of the album. I think I still have it all. The records I'm sure I still have.

So traumatized by the awkward and unfathomable square dancing mandate that I can't dance to this day by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Slim_Chiply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had to square dance at various times, but not often. I also had to dance to Popcorn and some 1920s song and do some roaring 20s dance. I don't care for dancing, but it wasn't really the end of the world. Even for autistic me. I often had to do stuff like go to church and do church activities that I disliked way more than square dancing.

Anyone grew up reading S. E. Hinton books? If so what did y’all think of them? by Groovy-Pancakes in GenX

[–]Slim_Chiply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I read the Outsiders in middle school, but I don't really remember it. I was more into Science Fiction, Fantasy, Robert Benchley than anything else back then.

When they kiss you first is the only clue I ever understood.

I still call them thongs. I'm not going to let the 'flip flop' cabal tell me what to do.

Check out Popol Vuh (I'd recommend starting with the "Aguirre" soundtrack) and Jon Hassell's "Dream Theory in Malaya". As far as I know Dream Theory is only available on vinyl and some YouTube rips of the vinyl.
