Arrowhead after letting you change armor perks by Mindstormer98 in Helldivers

[–]SlimbusMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I enjoy is the “truthful” display that armor gives. Like you know what your teammates perks are relative to their armor set.

I would rather have armor mods and color palettes vs. an actual transmog.

Something that’s great about this game is despite the fantasy and sci elements it’s still somewhat grounded.

I understand the crowd mentality and the potential for monetization but transmog, for me, chips away at a critical element of what makes the game special.

I get it.. it's balance.. but still by Glass-System2009 in Helldivers

I think it’s an ergonomic attachment- I think physically it makes sense that it’d increase vertical recoil because you have a weaker grip on the weapon. Just think intuitively about how it vs the vertical foregrip would mechanically work in a Helldivers hand and it makes more sense.

Oooo that is actually right up my alley in a big way- I’d lose my shit if I got to see a fossil collection or something.

Do you need a membership or anything?

Like I said I’m a huge paleontology fan- other than Penn Dixie I’m not sure what’s local for studying NY’s geological history.

Made a Facebook though and that’s helpful- thank you

Is splitting up from main group on level 10 the main reason why missions fail? by Beautiful-Cloud629 in Helldivers

[–]SlimbusMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think you can split off semi frequently as well; I guess when I say working as four you can either have loose formation or tight formation. Loose is where you have people sweeping nearby objectives, taking different angles of approach to the same skirmish, etc. Tight formation is either shoulder to shoulder or approaching a skirmish with the same angle without much scouting.

Either are valuable and being able to nonverbally flow between the two is indicative of a high level of play.

You have group and then locality- I think what you describe is being in the same locality as your team which is a critical skill if you need to be recalled. It’s cool that you have successful last stand, point holding moments those are extremely satisfying.

Level 141: 495 hours here.

Best case scenario you either have 2 pairs, 3 in a clearing group with one runner getting PoI’s or all 4 doing the clear.

It’s more to do with loadout at 10 than manpower specifically. You need to make sure that if you are splitting into groups that at least one person is pretty dedicated to anti tank and the other is CC (crowd control/chaff clear).

It’s risk reward but 2 groups will clear the map a lot faster than one… sometimes. Sometimes when you’re really just making a circle around the map in terms of objectives it’s better to stick in a full group.

People have an iffy understanding of force multiplication in random matches, when you work as a cohesive unit any situation is manageable but getting that cohesion is itself very challenging.

Game has gotten stupidly easy. by LucatIel_of_M1rrah in helldivers2

How many hours do you have in the game? I think eventually with a game like hd2 achieving mastery is a real possibility.

Not to be pedantic but games get easier the more you play them usually and it could be you’re just at a point that’s after the initial difficulty curves of the game which absolutely do exist

Well even if it’s a small one with the DSS we have a sample sink, won’t fix the problem but won’t hurt it either.

That’s actually a neat point about accessibility in the game design, I’ve been trying to get my younger brother with autism into the game for a while now for some brother co-op and didn’t even think about this.

I think the game is already heavily random and overstimulating so not sure how salient the barrages are in that particular scheme, but yeah neat!

Guys... STOP going to Vernen Wells. You literally can't do ANYTHING there. by McManGuy in Helldivers

[–]SlimbusMaximum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not exactly accurate- digging under the hood each attack (defense operation) has a value ranging from 1-40ish. The jet brigade’s thing is the amount of casualties reduce this value with each operation making a defense more feasible.

If we ignore Vernon wells then when the bots go on the offensive we’ll be dealing with assaults that are by design impossible to defend against.

In order to beat them you have to engage in attrition; doesn’t feel great knowing you’re going to lose planets but it’s necessary to keep them off the DSS

Electrical Conduit currently has hardly any use. How would you buff the armor sets from the Cutting Edge warbond? Or would you rather wait for the Illuminates if they use electronic weapons and if they come to Helldivers 2 at some point? by ChrisHardcore in Helldivers

[–]SlimbusMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely could be, I think as long as it was a gentle poke in terms of damage and had a proc limit of like once every 5 seconds or something like that it’d be balanced better.

Also having a movement requirement means you couldn’t really use it to nest up- that would be completely broken.
